This answer might sound obvious to some, but when you are promoting products on Facebook, after you get people to like your page, do you normally add them as your friend?

I never really add them as a friend as well. I suppose it depends what angle you are coming from but I just keep them as likes on my page!

Why would you want them as a friend?? I only ask because i'm curious. If it has any major benefits i'd love to know about them!

I'm new to Facebook marketing, so I'm wondering if there is a benefit like communicating directly with them as though they were on an email subscriber's list any type of offers I might promote to them.

The goal is to get a bunch of REAL people to "Like" your fanpage. Once someone likes your fanpage, whatever you update on that wall will show up in their Newsfeed.

Imagine having 50,000 targeted fans that you could send a message to on a daily basis? Do the conversions on that...

Now, you have to be careful how you do this.. Nobody wants to be bombarded with crap from anyone all day long. Update USEFUL / INTERESTING products, services or reviews a couple of times per day. Preferably during peak Facebook hours like in the evening. If you post too much crap you'll either be "Unliked" or they will simply choose to not show your updates in their newsfeed.

      Hope this helps!

I always add someone who likes my page to my friend because I think that is good way to be more efficient.

No. And if I liked a page and then the admin tried to friend me, I think I'd unlike it pretty quickly.

    I keep things separate.
One things is my facebook fanpage and another is my personal facebook profile with friends.

I only add people I like or is what I consider a friend.
Don't feel the need to add people you may or may not want to get to know on a personal level. It really is a question of personal preference.

If someone likes your page, doesn't mean he wants to be friends with you...

You don't ask them to be your friend. But have an opt-in form if you want to follow up (very important!)
