hi,

what is the best upsell process for maximum epc?
a lot of product launches i notice have a $39 to $49 product
and do upsells from there.

any tips on what price to start, then what to upsell, upsell, upsell? (and downsell and...what type of products for each price point)?

trying to get an idea on what the big guys are doing in terms of a sales process (what type of price point they do and what type of product).

thanks
bj

The launches I've worked with usually included 2-3 upsells that are twice the price of the previous product. So for example if you're selling a $27 ebook, the first upsell would be twice the price.

In my case and the people I've worked with...the first product usually described WHAT to do in a particular niche...and the upsell showed them HOW to do it. In other words, the upsells were more "hands-on" and "step-by-step" the further up the funnel you went. They usually consisted of videos essentially holding customers by the hand of what to do, etc.

Downsells would usually be 1/2 the price of the upsell with some component left out.

This is my experience writing copy for a lot of OTOs...others may vary.

      Hi there...

Sorry I just saw your message...been "off the grid" for awhile.

Ultimately it depends on the offer. My previous post is what worked for the launches I wrote copy for...but there can be exceptions.

For example if I bought a $300 pound internet marketing product by Frank Kern...and the OTO was for $1700 (an almost 6x jump in price)..but the offer was Frank personally coming to your house for a month to personally hold your hand as you build your internet marketing business, then that would be a no brainer.

So ultimately it depends on the offer.

I don't know what niche your in, but a friend of mine just did a successful IM launch on CB a few months ago.

    His funnel was as follows.

$37 front end. Upsale #1 $247. Downsale to $197, and a second downsale to a 3 day trial for 3 days, then billed at $247.

    Upsale #2 was $197, with a $147 downsale.

Upsale #3 was $97, downsale to $77, downsell to $37.

    Final upsell was $37 a month with a downsell for a $1 3 day trial, then $37 a month.

This had EPC's of close to $6 and was at it's peak I believe the #2 or #3 product in the market place.

He's not very well connected with the Inner Circle over there, but even without those connections he still did 1800 front end units, and his first upsell had a take rate of around 50% and he made six figures on the launch, his second one ever.

    Hope that helps.

upsell something that will simplify the process you taught on your product and/or one on one coaching program
the price usually double even quadruple the main product
if it's a web based upsell, you can charge monthly payment
