Launching PDF freebie

Greetings fellow warriors,

I am about to launch a PDF book as a freebie and finally start to build up my list. Since this is my first time doing it, I am probably about to miss tons of things I should've implemented.

URL website for this freebie will be listed on every page. Should I link some keywords in a book itself, back to my website? Will that help?

Any other suggestion is more than welcome!

Do we take it that you're hoping the free book goes viral? So the book has links back to your squeezepage?

If so then your URL in the footer is enough for every page. And you should finish the book with a call to action that gives the reader a solid reason for them to click through to your URL.

A lot of marketers have a Resource section at the end of free books which shows details of their products. It really depends on the content of the book.

Personally I like to make the free book a natural lead-in to the product or URL I'm promoting. That way it doesn't come across as a method of selling, more like an extended article with a link at the end for more information.

I agree that a free report or video should be used as a leadin to your sales page - The free report is a good way to gather names and email addresses for your list - but remeber once they get the free report if you do not have anything else to offer them they will forget you as fast as they get the report.

Use your autoresponder to keep in touch and offer them another solution to their problem

    Digital product check
    Squeeze page check
    Landing page check?
    White listing instructions check?
    One time offer page check?
    Download page check
    Bonuses check?
    Auto responder follow-up series check?

With any offer, most of the above are essentials. Some are optional like the one time offer. But generally speaking, you want all the above. Since you're starting with a free offer, I'm guessing in the future you will start with a low priced additional product. Something important to remember is once you have someone purchase something from you, you want to promote them to your list of "buyers". It's important to separate "buyers" from " freebie seekers".

An additional piece of advice: find someone you can trust to act as a Guinea pig for your product. Have them go for the entire process of getting your freebie and signing up for your mailing list. That way you can check to make sure that your entire process makes sense. You always have the option of removing their e-mail at a later date from your auto responder. Having a second set of eyes looking at your process might help you find any red flags or important omissions. Who knows, your friend might want to become a buyer on your list.

As I'm not really qualified to offer you further advice, I think I'll stop right here. I think it's great that you have decided to take the plunge and dive into building your list! I hope it works out for you and that you're very successful! All the best!

I suggest giving a freebie that presells another offer

The key here is to provide a lot of value...

This will depend on the information in the ebook sure you can add links within your ebook that redirect readers to your website. I personally would create a capture page where people get the free ebook in exchange for their contact information. If your free e-book is packed with some great information you shouldnt have any problem converting some of those interested into sales.

Use aweber or icontact for compliance.

The key in the beginning is to have some great information to offer. Don't give away
the bank but give people useful information they can actually use.

If you can help others solve a pressing issue in a customer friendly manner then you could have a customer for life.

Make sure your offering value , the money will come. I personally don't promote products to make a quick buck I have to believe in the product or I won't endorse it.

Good luck SLix , hope this helps
