Is it bad that I've only made 1 sale (2 orders from the same client) = $67... With my small list of 50??

Not at all, it's important to keep in regular contact with your list to build trust. Ask them to give you some opinions, ask questions, try and get a conversation flowing with some of them. This increases sales quite a bit

2% conversions aren't bad, but it depends on how you got the list. If you paid $3 each, that's not great.

It's great that you made a sale. Was it your first?

And if you got those 50 subscribers the good old fashion way and didn't pay for any of them, then you can't argue with a profit

Expect a lot of freebie seekers when list building; the ones who never have the intention of buying and are only signed up to see what else they can get for free. But don't let that distract you from providing quality content to your list on a regular basis.

"Bad" is when you are in IM for 6 months having only 5 subscribers. Like me.

Mr Scouser... if that continued and you built a list of several thousand... I'd be over the moon.

To be honest it's far too early to be making any assumptions on earnings from your list size yet but I'm pretty confident that your earnings will be directly related to your list size...

So just keep working on it, forget the money for a bit and see what happens.

It's good because now you know what makes money.

All you have to do is scale it up now.

That's a good result... Keep building your lists and put more emphasis on building a quality list than selling something.

There is a lot of value in a list that is built properly and treated with respect and honesty. The number of people on your list doesn't matter near as much as the quality, so treat them right and they will make you money.

    list of 50 lol.

I have a list of about 90,000 in one of my niches. Its taken a LONG time to build it up.

I did not see any real significant results until I thousands, and I was able to quit my job.

But remember, do not abuse them, make sure you give them great info and treat them well. If you do this, you can make truckloads of money with a smaller list, because they trust you.

Now stop reading and get to work. Have a goal, of 10 subscribers a day. Then 20, then 50, then 100 and on and on.

My friend in the dating niche gets about 500 - 600 subscribers a day. YES! a freak, but if I told you what he makes with that list, you wouldnt believe me. LOL.

I'm curious now, how much does he make with that list?

You need a bigger list, 50 ppl doesn't even offer you enough info to see if your product can scale or not.

50 is a good start, but I do belive that you promoted a product too early. Keep going, scale it up and keep building. Remember to keep offering quality and slip in some products at times. When you do offer products make sure they are AWESOME.

It's not bad at all in my opinion. At least you've done something. If anything I'm proud of you and I think you should give yourself a pat on the back for doing what most IMer's can't. I also think you should invest into ad swaps to build your list along with solo ads. There is no doubt that the money is in the list. Also be sure to maintain a good relationship with them as well. Provide a lot of value.

That is 2% conversion rate. If you get your list from cold traffic, then it is good enough.

And if the rest of your list never buys from you, I would think that either you have a list full of freebie seekers, or you are not doing a good job selling.

I would prefer a list of 50 people that all buy my 500$ product than a list of 10 millions people in which none of them buy my 1$ product.

It's all in the quality of your list my friend
