How do I earn money on my Emma Watson blog?

Hi Warriors

I own Emma-Watson-fans.net, which have about 1000 unique visitors per day.

I haven't monetized the blog at all at the moment, so I am searching for the best ways to monetize it.

If you have any ideas about which methods would work the best, please let me know. I appreciate all ideas.

I have aldready tried Adsense and to put some affiliate banners around the blog. It didn't give much compared to the traffic. A few dollars a day only.

Now I am thinking that I should build a newsletter list, and create an info product, and maybe even after that, a membership site.

But to be honest I have no idea what to create an info product and membership site around, as it of course needs to be related to Emma Watson.

Any ideas are much appreciated.

Thanks
Jean

    Hi Jean,

What about affiliate programs for things like Emma Watson posters, movies and collectibles?

Think about what the fans want (collectibles), not what you want (income).

That should help steer you in a more profitable direction, as you focus on what they want, you will get more of what you want.

    All the best,
    Michael

      Hi Michael

Yes, you are right. That could maybe be a possibility. I tried with different Harry Potter related merchandise and livestyle products like parfume and clothes, but that didn't work out well. But maybe I should give this a try.

      Thanks for your comment.

      Hi Alexa

Actually I didn't think much about this, as there are so many other Emma Watson fans sites around + fan sites for many other actors, which earn money from Adsense, affiliate and more.

Of course it doens't make it more legal, but it seems like it's common accepted on the internet. At least I didn't hear about any fan sites getting in problems, but maybe I am wrong. The only problem I heard about, is when people use photos on their sites, which are copyrighted, without permission.

      Thanks for your concern.

If there's any possibility of Emma Watson having a lawyer, that's an extremely good idea, because if you ever do, she may be able to take from you (a) the domain-name, (b) any money you've ever earned from it, and (c) punitive damages.

Apologies if I sound "hostile" (not my intention at all!) rather than curious, but doesn't it occur to you that you're flagrantly breaching her civil-law rights, here?

You could also sell add space, so like contact related companies and sell a banner space on your page, also if you are a good designer, offer to design a banner for a certain price.

You could also check out Amazon for Harry Potter related stuff, like books, DVDs, etc. I am sure her fans watch her movies?

    Hi laustinseo

    Thanks for your reply!

Do you know if selling add space could be a good money earner? I am really prepared to go big, so I don't just earn a few dollars here and there on the site.

And by the way, do you know a good place/site, where I can find companies searching for sites to place their ads? I remember such a site is existing, but I don't remember the name of the site.

    Thanks
    Jean

    Hi Jean,

Selling AdSpace can bring in quite a bit of money, it varies depending on what niche your in, but you need to bear in mind how much people will be able to spend. So give many different options, varying in price so you can get in as much business as possible.

I actually had a site where i was going to do this in the removals industry, a lot of people sounded interested but i ended up selling the site to another company.

The way i would approach it is literally cold calling, set up your price list first and then just Google people that may be interested. Websites that are in the top 5 positions of Google will definitely not be interested so just go through them until you get to about page 10

Hope i helped if you have any more questions just ask

    Hi again

    Sounds great, thanks a lot!
To be honest I don't feel comfortable cold calling, so maybe I should just try to email them. think I will give it a try and see what happens.

But if anyone still have a clue how I can make an info product related to Emma Watson, I am listening, This is still my number one preferred method, I would like to go with.

    Thanks

    Hi David

yes, i thought about this too and checked the stuff out, people are selling on Amazon.

It's mostly pictures, posters and the Harry Potter movies people sell. That could be worth trying too. I will write it on my "things i will try" list.

    Much appreciated comment.

    Thanks :-)

      Hi Danielle

Sounds great. I have to think about this one, how I market to this audience. But you are right, there is a huge market.

      Thanks a lot.

      Hi Magnificent Tony

DVD rental offers, didn't think about that before. I will write that on my list too, for things to try.

About Amazon, several people have now recommended Amazon, so I will take a try with this one for sure.

      Thanks!

How about setting up affiliate lnks to a good DVD Rental offer? Some of them are very lucrative, and it seems like a natural tie-in.

Of course, there's also the Amazon Associates program. The beauty of Amazon is that once they've clicked through your link, you'll be paid commission on ANYTHING they purchase within the next 24 hours (even if it's not related to Harry Potter).

24 hours may not seem long in comparison with the duration of other affiliate cookies, but Amazon is SO well optimized for multiple purchases that most people end up buying far more than they intended once they get to the checkout. Definitely worth considering.
