Lead Generation For Artists

Figured I might be able to get better responses here as a lot of lead generation is done online.
My friend/client is a painter, does mainly sports oil paintings. Where would be the best place to generate leads? Each of the paintings is $750 for a 16x20 painting framed, so need to target people who have money to spend.

    I don't know where you come from, but here in Peru there is a small company which is doing wonders. They sell hand-made stuff, like pots or flower vases or other ornaments.

    To generate their leads, they started giving out leaflets half a block away of the main malls in the city. Now they have their stands there.

    here's what I think you can do...

    Publish a Newsletter
    Partner with referrals
    Call every client and prospect at least once every three months.
    Maintain an online presence.(Social Media..etc. etc.)
    Do a mailing campaign
    Regularly network with professionals
    Try to offer something relevant for free...

    Well right now, I have submitted a painting for a charity auction where there are a lot of sports players, will hopefully get big sales from that. Will increase exposure as there will be a brochure of his there.
