4% Conversion, 2$ per conversion, $$$?

INTERNET MARKETING

OK, 4% Coversion, 2$ per Conversion...

My thoughts & some questions...

I'm leaning towards this just not being worth it, I just can't stop thinking about it, so I'm hoping you guys can shed some light on the issue.

If your pretty much new, not getting a ton of free traffic yet, and here's the big killer, this offer was in the wonderful "Make Money Online" niche could you make any money with it? (How?)

The only traffic it has been getting is free traffic, traffic that's not exactly "hitting the bulls-eye", if ya know what I mean. It's converting at 4%, but only getting (mostly) low quality traffic....
(This is whats eating at me, it'll get better w/better traffic)
Obviously, at this rate, I'd need 1 cent clicks with PPC, which doesnt seem likely, especially in this niche.
Is there a smaller network where 1 cent clicks are possible? (Where?)

Is there a better way to "pay" for traffic in this situation? (Media Buys?)

Or is this just totally not worth anyone's time?

Sorry if it's a dumb question and obviously not worth it... :confused:

I don't think any paid advertising would be worth it. You can work to increase free traffic, though. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to make a solid 10-20 bucks a day off something like that.

  Are you talking about a coupon? If you can get a $100 coupon, then you could exhaust that and do pretty well. I don't think you need to pay $5 for it, though. Should be able to find one for free somewhere. Give Google your address and they'll probably send 'em to you.

4% conversions for anything is actually very good. If you're only making $2 per conversion / sale, though, you have a few things you need to do:

1. Split test higher price points. You might find that charging a lot more keeps a comparable conversion rate (or even lower but makes a lot more).

2. Add upsells, one time offers, and backend offers. For a low price point front end, this can make you several times what you're making now if it's a good offer.

3. Build a list off that and market to them on an ongoing basis. This can be worth even more money.

If you do these three things, you can then afford to pay more for advertising because you should be making more. This is also why a lot of infomercials, CPA offers, and other advertised offers in general typically don't make a profit on the front end -- they make it up with #2 and #3 above.

Not worth it. Let's say a CB offer converts at only 1% (common), if you got ONLY $8 per conversion you'd make more. See what I mean? Same amount of work, way more pay. If you find a CB product that converts at 1% and pays $50 commission, you'll make $.50 EPC instead of $.08

$2 sounds like an e-mail submit or something like that. Have you tried rotating a bunch of similar offers?

  What are you promoting that converts at 4% but only pays $2?
  
  Usually if you're promoting basic CPA offers you can get like 10-15% conversions, but again the payout is low.

If you get bad traffic, the convertionrate might be much higher when the traffic is more targeted.

You are making 8cent per visitor, so a 6cent click would be profitable if you can build high numbers.

Compared to a .50 AdSense click you are getting a 16 % CTR (4 % x (2/0,5) ), so it is not that bad, but you need to grow your free and targeted traffic.
