Almost every one available has been discussed in detail in this post:

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...lly-works.html

I personally like WP-O-MAtic now that I've learned it.

That thread is a goldmine - but its getting at the gold now that it has become its own beast ... thats the real challenge.

I found YAAB plug in as a good alternative to WPoMatic since WPOM isnt playing nice with my WPRemix2.0 theme.

But I'll need to add John Taylor's plugin that was recommended in that thread - WP Affiliate [i think]. With that and YAAB it reoplaces the nonfunctioning WPOM for me, but its no longer automatic! Its ok though cuz the site I want to do this one first has ME all over it and its not going to be fully auto anyways.

The auto pilot versions will all be on a differnt theme - flexibility

I would second that vote for WP-O-Matic, yes it can be a pain in the ass sometimes, but once you know how to fix any little foibles, the functionality it has is just awesome. And of course it's free (although to keep your conscience clear you should donate something to the developer for providing such a great plugin).

Just to balance it out, there are others such as:
    FeedWordPress (free)
    Caffeinated Content (paid)
    YAAB (free)

and some others have been offered in the WSO section as well (not sure if they are still available)

Have you come across any other folks having theme compatibility issues Tim?

Im chalking it up to theme, as - WPOMATIC does the same erroneous thing on my friends site on same webhost with all other plugins deactivated as mine WPRemix theme does. I run WPOMATIC on the same host on a Flexbility them with any all plug ins installed or deactivated - wpom works a treat!

        Not yet.

I haven't had time to look into that issue you had with the Remix theme you mentioned in my other thread, but I've had no problems with the thems I've used.
I don't want to hijack this thread so I'll respond more over on mine.

Personally I would rather have my own content on my blog written by myself.. It is very simple, write up 30 blog post that caters to your actual theme (niche) of your blog. Toss it in the dripfeed and set it to post once a day, select the category to post to, and submit .. On auto-polit for 30 days.

Having your own content make sures you are providing quality content to your readers which is important.

I do offer a dripfeed service that allows you to add unlimited blogs, so if you got 30 blogs then you can put them all on auto-pilot. Nothing to install, No plugins, No theme issues, will post to WordPress 2.6 and 2.7...

    Need more information PM me..

Ralf are you looking for something that auto posts and update rss feeds and that type of thing or are you looking for something that will auto post your articles and then notify the bookmarking sites?

If you want to auto post a zip file containing articles, I use JP's script. I wrote about it on my blog
Load Your Articles And Forget About Them : The Marketing Educator
There are 3 scripts in one - I use it and it works great.
No cron headaches like with WP-O-Matic (which I am testing on another blog I have)

If you are just doing one or two sites PM me and I'll give you a hand with it so you can try it out.

I don't use Cron to kick my WP-O_Matic off on my blogs, I just let the internal WordPress cron function do it which seems to work for me on Hostgator.

Under Options in the WPOM settings, just untick the Unix cron setting and see if it works.

Yep, most of all I'm looking for using rss content in different ways. Ideally an application would pull several related feeds and merge them into one that then feeds a blog category.

Scheduling my own content is something that I already can do. I own wp drip feeder and I consider buying JP's BlogMatrixPro. I haven't tested it yet, so I'm not sure if the built in rss solution is the best I can come up with.

There is a WSO for a fantastic plugin which makes it a snap to upload content to Wordpress. I added 25 PLR articles-each one to post every 48 hours-so I'll have new content posted until mid February and I don't have to do anything else. It didn't even take a minute. Before that plugin I would have to set each post with a future date and it tedious and time consuming. I don't have the link handy but check out the WSO for "PLR to Wordpress".

This is exactly what my system does with no need for a plugin. Why install a plugin at each blog you own and use your system resources on your server .. Use someone elses server resources and set it and forget it ... lol

Thanks for posting here and for the update. YAAB worked a treat straight out of the shoot, and if you can add the link adding feature that we all desire in Wp-o-Matic - then I think you'll have a big hit.

                Yep, quite agree.

It's already a good rival for WPOM (I am testing it on some blogs at the moment) and if that word replacement functionality is built in as well then it may well take the honours!

I'm not familiar with your system but I prefer to keep control of these type of things and not have to rely on third party services it's only 8KB and it takes seconds to upload 25 posts so it's not a heavy hitter on the server.

I see your logic I do after all use third party services like YouTube but that's backed by Google but even then they could someday say no more marketing videos allowed. So it's nice to have things on my server/control.

My favorite tool to upload content to wordpress - my absolute, hands down favorite - to the point that if I were forced to give up every single other marketing tool I own but one I'd keep this one - is Teli Adlam's WP Datafeed Importer.

Best investment I've ever made! And I think I've only used it for an actual datafeed once!

Mine will.. Because the information you post comes from you... I think it is very important for your blog to have your own personal written stuff, unless you hire a writer to do the writting for you.. Point is though it is much more effective to use your own unique content..

My system is built to do just that ...

It's not either/or as many use blogs they write all content for and still use automated blogs using RSS for other niches or in addition to the uniquely written ones.

I'm going to try the wp-o-matic this week - will probably be a marathon due to my total lack of technical skills. (I'm usually able to figure problems out but sometimes I go the long way around the pasture to get there). I'll stick with Flexibility theme - no sense asking for problems.

It might interest folks to know that I'll be completely revamping SLOBS
(Super Lazy Organic Blogging System) later this month. For those who want
complete control over the content posted in their blogs, but not wanting to
do the writing themselves, then SLOBS is the perfect answer for you. Not
only will it post complete articles written by somebody else who WANTS you
to post them, but it will do so in an organic pattern, and is Blogger friendly
too. Of course SLOBS will post to WordPress as well.

I use Caffeinated content. it will post from Yahoo Answers, Articles from ArticleBase and Yahoo Videos although I am not that keen on what I get with the rewriting features.

What is not as widely known though is that it will also post your own PLR or articles, dripfed to your requirements. You just load them up to the text folder on your website, press the button and you are good to go...

Therefore Caffeinated Content gives you the best of both worlds (generated content and your own/PLR content)

Call me biased but my favorites are my own

ADPS (The Affiliate Datafeed Profit System) for affiliate datafeed content that can be mixed and matched from multiple merchants, pulled in by keywords and phrases, grouped together to create comparison shopping style posts, etc.

Combined with ZipPoster for drip feeding my own content, PLR, stuff I've gotten ghostwriters to create, etc.

And then of course mix in Reposter (or any combination of the three actually) and you have an amazingly organic, killer Google Pavlov system that just keeps running no matter what you are or are not doing

I do run WP Omatic on a few sites and it's pretty good for an RSS importer too.

I just started using WP Answers. I plug in my keywords and it collects questions and answers from Yahoo Answers. I set it up so that it won't post because I just use it for getting idea's for content. If I see a good question then I will do a quick rewrite of that question with my answer and then post it on my site. There was a bug with the first version but the latest version of WP Answers works great!

    HI,

Just one note about WP-O-Matic. I used it on a dedicated box to automate press releases to a wp site. I had over 200 automated tasks and it "fried" the server in a month. I think WP-O-Matic is a nice plugin, but be careful how many 'cron' processes you create using it.

My suggestion is for you to add only what you need, then monitor the server, shared server, etc. and only when it handles the processes, add more. You might also consider running the processes when your visitors are most likely to be sleeping.

In my case, I found out that adding "used" content actually killed my traffic. There is nothing better than original content or at least as close to it.

    Success,
    Sam

I'm personally getting a ton of spam from these auto blogs that people keep making.

It's pretty pointless spamming content to the search engines and especially pointless when people like myself have plugins like Akismet installed that just dump the trackbacks from auto blogs.

I've actually written some PHP scripts that create unique content and automatically posts several posts to a blog every day, at random times. Generally very little (if any) of the content in the posts is taken from another website, and if it is, it's because it's directly relevant to the post.

Most of the content comes from hundreds of randomizers that I've created and hand-written ahead of time, and the chances that two blog posts will ever be the same are about 0.0001%, even if hundreds of blogs use the same scripts. This is integrated with variable data that my spiders pull from certain websites.

An example would be a baseball box score. My spider would pull all relevant data from the box score (location, hits, errors, runs, weather, player stats, etc.), and then "write" a post about the game. I'm currently testing a script that does this.

Another example that's currently live is a blog about Spyware. It pulls from a database I have about various computer processes, and "writes" information about the process, whether or not it's spyware, what action you should take (if any), and links to a PC Cleaner with my affiliate link.

It's different than most "autoblog" scripts out there, but I think in a good way. The primary downside is that the topics are limited to those I am able to create, and it takes about a week or more to create a good script, so I only have a few so far (three complete and four more in testing). I've gotten great results from them though. Some of my blogs are getting thousands of visitors a month, most directly from Google searches.

Anyway, I didn't write this post to advertise my software, so I'm not sure if I should post a link to my sales page. I just find Autoblogging to be fascinating, but I've never been a big fan of autobloggers that take content from other sites and swap out words. If anyone wants to check out my software, PM me.

    Robert
