I agree Istvan is better looking than the guy that the designer used.

To me the banner looked a bit infantile, I asked him for a remake and this is what I got:

About trademark - I've checked it and as long as I say that I am not affiliated with them its ok to have their name on my site. Of course I'm not using their logo so that's ok.

Not bad. I like it except for the "You Can Facebook" - would rather see something simple, similar to the "A-Z" text, but bolder, thicker font.

If marketing to a guide to the over 50s who know little to nothing about FB, in my opinion, it needs to be as simple as possible, i.e. bells and whistles won't help sell it.

I like the second one better. The first one (in my opinion) doesn't really look like it caters to the over 50 crowd. In fact, it really doesn't cater to the under 50 crowd. lol

Anyway, the second one looks a little simpler and cleaner. The first one was cool and all, but the other one just has a better feel.

I didn't think the first one was too terrible. The second one's font bugs me a little, it reminds me of a television show about hillbillies, haha.

This actually makes me want to create a fiverr gig real quick to make some headers, I think I could bang one of these out in 5 minutes. A dollar per minute seems like a nice salary.

I'm over fifty and I don't think either one is "stupidly ugly" In my opinion the second is better. Neither is fantastic. Only $5.00. If you had to go back and ask for a few more "re-do's" probably only $2.50 each, cheap enough.

Banner #2 is a bit better. Neither one is really outstanding. But, quite frankly it's not bad for $5, especially since you got a remake. I've seen a lot worse. Like anything... you get what you pay for.

The moving pictures are cheesy looking in the way they move and in the choice of images.
The 2nd header is better in my opinion.
For $5 it ain't bad, but if you are seriously going to try to sell this product why cheap out on the look of the page? It could be a LOT better. Just mho.

I think that for the time you spent dealing with Mr/Ms Fivver...you could have probably made a heck of a lot better header doing it yourself on: Logo Design and Name Generator :p

My first thought was about the trademark in the domain name. But, as you say, you've got that covered.

I gave up on the first one because it hadn't loaded in over 3 minutes. I'm using my iPhone and connected to my home wi-fi system, but every other website is super-fast.

The second design looks ok but I can't compare it to the first so don't know if it's better, or not.

You could always have a look for xheader, which is free and easy to use, if you want to try your hand at doing your own.

I guess you changed the header graphic. Remember - over 50s (I'm one of them) were brought up in a world where people could spell and good spelling mattered

Fix the spelling error that leapt off the page at me "are you over 50 and feel like your missing out on facebook"

I don't like the banners. I think it's a good idea to request your money back and spent >10-15$ for a good header ! The background is too simple. Depends on your requirement. Fiverr has some good designers, just filter the results by rating or popularity.

Having said that, I like the header graphic. It's simple, it fits in with your theme and it does not detract from your overall design.

Its definitely not the worst, its typical fiverr header quality from my experience. On elance.com you can get a really nice header usually with 5-10 other variations for around $45-50 but again 5$ vs 50$ its your call. I personally would crunch up the name and add a .com and call it a day and save the 40$ to throw into adwords and get some sales and get yourself into the black then reinvest

Yeah, it's pretty plain. I've had the same problem with fiverr header gigs.

I agree with the others about using a header graphics software. You can pick up a cheap one that works great at your local Staples or Office Depot.

I've ripped out some great graphics and logos with a $29 logo creator software.
