I know it's not much, but I got £0.42 on my first day of running Adsense! I have zero content on the website and have barely done any advertising, except advertising for Editing jobs.

This makes me think hell, slam loads of content on there, submit some articles and get a steady flow of human traffic. BAM cash.

The only thing is, I suck at writing reviews, guides, cheats etc and I can't afford to outsource. Also, I need to structure a proper menu but I'm not sure what to have on there. I'ved looked at IGN and other gaming Websites, and there are so many menus/drop down menus. I just don't know where to start.

It's been almost a year I've had this domain and not made any use of it, but seeing the Adsense which I tested has inspired me to renew the domain and keep on going!

Everyone starts somewhere when it comes to earning with Adsense. Congratulations on your first earnings.

The theme looks nice, but you'll want to optimize it to meet whatever your goals are for your site.

    I wantz that domain name...

It looks fine, keep working on it.

It will take time but I'm sure you can make it look great.

"writing reviews, guides, cheats etc" don't forget videos, easy to add yet provides lots of
    value.

I really want the domain name...

Ya, you should put more contents on your website and fill it out with contents. More contents, more traffic and more money. But your contents should be unique.

Congratulations! The first affiliate income I made years back was from Adsense. I believe it was 10 cents or something. I remember dancing around the room and cheering. Why? Because I knew I could do it again and again and again and again...

      Congrat, your theme looks great.
You need to fill your content. Look for other articles, collect their ideas and write it with your words. You may have a list of subject for each posts and hire people write for you with $2-$5 per articles. With $100 investment, you will have 20-50 articles for filling your site. You can try at odesk.com or another freelance site.

    Gotta make that money!

The site linked didn't load anything. It said no posts available. You need to get some content up and running!

Video game reviews are all about the tone these days. Everyone is doing it, kind of like movie review's, so you need a style that capture's attention. You'll soon develop and audience and be off to the races.

I'd recommend some good ol' fashion forum marketing on gaming boards if you can muster it. They tend to be sort of brash, so maybe you could tailor your gaming reviews in that regard?

I could go on and on. Gaming and marketing? It's like a geeky wet dream!

I don't do much with Adsense so I'm not well-versed in the rules, but at the very least you're violating the rule that says your site must have and abide by a privacy policy.

        https://www.google.com/adsense/suppo...y?answer=48182

It might also be violating some of the content-centric rules (lack of content, ads placed on a page only designed to display ads, etc)

This might seem anal, but I've seen a lot of people get their Adsense accounts permanently banned. You really have to play by their rules 100% at all times; for some reason they seem to ban for the slightest violation.

Filling in more content to the site, then you'll see some improvement in term of traffic and earning. Google is a good lecturer, search anything that you're not clear then you get the answer, when you play more with wordpress, then you should be able to know how to tweak the design.

hmm.. did you click it yourself?

adsense if VERY VERY VERY hard to earn money with. honestly, you're the billionth person to think "loads of content = loads of traffic = loads of clicks".

this is very niche dependant, and you need TONNES of traffic to really profit from adsense.

Congrats on earning your first Adsense!

I have a site with adsense on it that I don't do much with. The adsense earnings was only a couple dollars a day at best during the week and would drop off on weekends. Then the traffic began to double over about a 2 or three month period earlier this year (for some reason - I didn't do anything new or different and wasn't even working the site), then the adsense earnings quadrupled.

Double the traffic, quadruple the adsense. Go figure.

Add content to your site and get some more traffic to it, then it will inspire you to build sites a little quicker.

      Kimmeh!

      Congrats! Let me suggest this....

Check out some of the gaming blogs and consider striking a deal with one of the bloggers....Have him create some content for you and in exchange allow him to link his site from a text link within your content. Just keep the link toward the bottom assuming your adsense is positioned towards top and right of your content....This way, your adsense CTR won't be affected!

    Hi Kim,

I read in your post that you want drop down menus like IGN.... here's my advice...

Build your content first then worry about design or the theme later. That way you can focus on the more important element -- your site content which will bring you traffic (hopefully repeat traffic) and search engine love.

Once you get traffic and you start getting some Adsense clicks, and you have built some decent amount of solid content based on your targeted keywords, then it would be time to worry about the site design and the fancy stuff.

    Good luck and congrats!

Creating content in the form of articles is easy. All you need to do is structure out your article content in a step by step format and then fill it up. Also if you want to know how to structure your content on your website just visit top sites in google and checkout what they are doing and how they are structuring their website. Research keywords and then logically arrange the keywords in a structure upto 3 to max. 4 levels deep and then link your content in that manner. Hope this helps...
