*BEWARE* New Scammers lurking On Fiverr!

Hi Everybody,

I recently started getting these weird messages via fiverr.

I got one yesterday and another one with exactly the same text today.

These guys are impersonating other respected fiverr sellers.

I actually clicked the link to see what exactly I will be getting because I thought its the same person.

Its a very low quality sales page with multiple typos and was actually created by these scammers to capture emails.

I didn't include my email of course but they fooled me for a moment.

If these guys are desperate enough to break into the fiverr database, who knows what else they are capable of.

Be smart and click the report button on the bottom right and fiverr will deal with them.

Cheers,
Ari

There seems to be a hint of desperation with these type of scams running on Fiverr. Most probably due to the increasing amount of competition on Fiverr these days. Lucky I know how to weed the good gigs from the bad ones

Now fiverr is a famous place for Buyers/Sellers. Scammers are everywhere. We can't stop them. But we can control them

Thanks again for informing this thing.

I've noticed that they are also contacting buyers of legitimate Gigs and offering their similar services. I tend to stick to "Top Rated Sellers" only..

Likewise, I have my select people on Fiverr I deal with and any new sellers I look at top rated, both in %feedback and also number of jobs done.

I rather buy from someone with 96% from 1000 jobs, than a 100% from 3 jobs.

Thanks for the heads up though.

well fiverr's system is robust, they do not allow too many messages to be sent, if sent the sender receives a strike... still report to fiverr CS, they will handle it...

You need to report it to fiverr to put a stop to it.

Report it to customer support. They problably won't do anything but it's worth to try.

I've reported numerous scams to fiverr and they took them down right away.

Even if some people do opt it, I suspect these people would be bombarding them with nonsense email anyway and soon have an unresponsive list of useless emails anyway, as a result.

What do they think is going to happen? That they'll get a super responsive list and make lots of money? Idiots!

Report them straight away! It gives the honest marketers a bad name.

You can get your account suspended for just including a link to a site offering similar services, or asking for an email address. It's possible to make good money on Fiverr, and I don't get why people would bother doing that, I guess it's hackers.

I just got one of the these...and reported it. Honest Fiverr vendors get hurt by all the BS these dishonest ones pull. ...and even though there is probably more desperation on Fiverr than in the past, plenty of vendors accept gigs and then let them lapse, forfeiting their payment. Dumb.

I got one similar to that as well. Just be cautious.

On a side note... damn I wish I thought of Fiverr... those guys are making a killing!

Find a need and fill it.

I thought the warrior who posted about his GigWolf site the other day did a good job of finding a need. There isn't any good way of searching the Wanted listings on Fiverr (that I know of) -- that's a need GigWolf fills. I've used it a couple of times.

I liked GigWolf, as well. The only thing there that if the person does not offer services, it is impossible to contact him/her. At least, I haven't figured the way.

As for the scams, I recently got a message to barter one of my gigs for a complete download of "CashRenegade". The guy was very quickly suspended.
