How Can I Comment on Posts

There are a lot of messages and threads within the forums that I'd like to contribute/post to but each time I try I get a message saying I have to have 20 posts but I don't want to just post nonesense so I get to 20 but how have others done it I'd be interested to know as it seems a bit of a pointless restriction as most of the comments I'd like to make relate to stuff already on here. When I have tried to post about something that's already in discussion I'm told to post on the original thread which I can't as I haven't got 20 posts - I'm very confused!

this is obviously a newb question, but how can you start a thread if you arent allowed to comment. and how do you have a sig if you only have 4 posts? I think you are doing very well indeed!

Must admit, I noticed that too

I think the 20 posts figure is there to supply a safety net, stopping people who would hop in with one liners, just to build up post numbers.

The moderators want to know that you're making a valid contribution to the Forum. I've found three today who were simply using a thread to slip in some advertising links, (and reported them).

To build up to ypur 20 posts, you need to hang around a bit, and make some useful contributions to existing threads.

      Cheers
