How do you create an ebook cover?

I want to write an ebook but I don't know anything about graphics. So can anyone please tell me how to create an ebook cover?

  • If you cannot afford to get a good looking cover design then it's best not to have one at all as it can reduce the conversions drastically if it's not good.

    You could also go look on fiverr or any other fiverr clone sites.

    I found one that looks pretty good from doing a quick search.

    • No disrespect but those look terrible... and would never do any favors in conversions. If this is what you get then I think it would be better, actually it would be better not to get one. at all.

    • I do my own in Photoshop, but needed an easy way for my newsletter readers to make their own and found the site Annie linked. Here's an eCover I designed in about 3-4 minutes a couple months ago using that site:



      Mods: This was just a test cover I made, I don't have a product by that name so this isn't self-promotion.

      Not bad at all for a free utility. The results are plenty good enough to use, IMO.
    • I use Photoshop actions, however I did a test of the one in the quote above and they are very acceptable.

  • You can create a free or paid eBook cover here: ecover design - design it yourself online . It is very easy to use. Give it a try before considering paid options.

    Save yourself the hassle and time; Theres a guy on the "for hire" section that, if you can get him when he is available, that does a superb job of mini-site layouts which includes ebook covers (starts at $17 iirc) - bear in mind you might need site graphics as well

  • You can use Free Clip art on the web and combine those graphics on a plain sheet, It takes only a bit of imagination, then save it.

    The most common mistake I see are eBook covers which make
    the product look like it is more pages than customers actually get.

    I have a 7 page ebook with less than 3 refunds in over 2,000 sales
    because my eBook cover shown on the sale page looks like it has
    seven pages ... not a novel or 100 page report.

    I also come right out and say how many pages ( of real content ) there are.

    Funny enough, my covers are all made with cheap graphics and MS Paint!

    ( Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint .... depending on your computer OS )
  • There are several website offer free ebook cover and photoshop action file (.atn). This file consists of several programmed tasks as to make the raw graphic to become an ebook. I have a video but it is on my language.

    I use semmy and agung in the warriors for hire section.

    These guys are very cheap and their covers they do are insane quality for the price.

    Just my 2 cents.
