Can A CLICKBANK Publisher Be An Affiliate?

Hello WARRIORS!

Simple question:

Can a CB publisher also be an affiliate?
Since the publisher (myself) already has a CB account, I assume that is all CB needs.

Is this the format for the link:
mynickname.thepublishersnickname.hop.clickbank.net

Am I correct? (I am just making sure. I obviously don't want to waste my time if I am missing a step with CB.)

While I am at it, should I worry about trying to cloak the link if I am not in a real competitive niche like IM in general, but more computers and technology? Why cloak in the first place?

Thanks in advance!

But why would you buy from yourself?

It's not to buy from yourself, but to promote other people's products - even your competition. For example, I sell packages of science project guides, but occassionally will get a customer asking for a specific type of project which I don't have. I send them an email which says, "I'm sorry we don't have the project you are looking for. Here are some other places you can look." I use my affiliate link to direct them to other science project sites.

Of course, you can also promote non-competing products that still relate to your niche.

My sense is as a marketer, you are out there
to fulfill the needs of your clients.

There are different ways of doing that
such as upselling, cross-selling and down-
    selling.

What you can sell can be your own products
    or other people's products.

As for other people's products, you can be
their affiliates and promote them to your
    own list.

And to earn commission, you can insert your
    affiliate links.

    Hope this helps

Hey Brandon, I just went to your site. It's cool. I was a science teacher for 14 years before I got into this selling stuff online gig. I started out writing instructional aids for math and chemistry teachers. So, I can see how your stuff would be a great help to educators--good work!!!
