I just recently set up a website. Its called Writers Babble and I would like it to be a site where writers can write and/or read the works of other people. The idea is still vague for me though.

Is it possible to get content from other people? Do you know what's the best way to get "volunteer" writers to add content to my page?

PS:
The site is still under construction and is still not good to look at.

Generally , as a writer, we wish to be paid for our work. If you want good content, then it's better to pay and get it than risk poor quality. If you don't want to pay much, then you would probably have to outsource it to someone whose English may not be their first language as they're in a foreign country but will accept a tiny amount of money.

IF you're prepared to pay well, I would be happy to write for you. I currently need extra work.

You can either pay the writer for content, or you can provide an authority website with a large audience, and some writers might let you publish their content in exchange for allowing them to include an advertisement in the form of any Author Resource Box with the article.

If you are ever to have an "authority website" with an audience, your editorial standards will help drive that forward. If you lack standards, readers and authors will not care that you have a website.

    Hmm... points taken...

I really don't know how to say this but. I am willing to pay, although its not part of the plan. The site is supposed to be a site where a person can enjoy his passion without asking for anything in return. Its like doing something just because you like doing it. I guess some writers forget that sometimes. I am also a writer who gets paid to write for other people. The reason why I set this site up is that, There was a point when I actually forgot the last time I wrote something just for the heck of it. I guess its not just me. I was thinking I can ask fellow writers their experiences or how far they are with their craft.

Content for the site is not something to be outsourced. I wanted experiences. First hand information.

But it was a long shot anyways.

    Thanks for the reply though!
