Bugs with WF Signature?

Hi

is anyone experiencing problems with their signature?

My signature is not showing on some threads...On other threads the signature shows without image.

For example here it's not showing:

http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...ml#post4454119

Seems like something funny is going on...

Aaah... I see. That explains a lot. I was wondering the same thing and never made the "WSO connection."

      Bingo.

It's to keep spammers from posting nonsense in paid threads, just as a means of getting sig exposure. That's because sigs in paid threads are like getting free advertising on someone else's dime (and some spammers were indeed using it that way).

Yes if not there'll be spammers whose sold job is to jump in as the first commenter.

That was happening far too often. One fellow was teaching people to do this. Earned him a ban for a while.

It got to the point where a single member was camped out in the WSO section posting the same thing in every thread. Basically, "This looks great. I'll check it out." He was the first poster on hundreds of WSO threads, with his brightly colored graphic sig image...

If he'd been the only one, it would have been easy to handle. But it never works that way. As soon as one person figures out an angle like that, it ends up being spotted, taught, and abused to the point the loophole needs closing.

This was one of the few no-brainers. Almost no-one argued about their right to advertise in someone else's paid thread.

Certainly does and Pauls just explained that nicely above this.

    Yeah,

Amazingly, you could see that some members have actually stopped commenting in WSO's after this updated signature rule, otherwise on every new WSO, they are the one with BIG signature image and use words like "Attention". It was really irritating for WSO sellers.

Thanks to WF mods in this, it was indeed needed.

    Thanks,

  • I thought that I had done something wrong......

I guess I see the reason for it, for the rest of us that do not "spam", we are probably paying for the spammers in the loss of traffic to our sites (that have nothing to do with the WSO's in any way).

Funny, I never even dreamed of putting my "competing WSO" link in my siggy, just to try to draw traffic away from the original WSO.

That is because IMHO, it is extremely unprofessional to engage in behavior like that.

Anyway, now that I know what is going on, I feel better.

    Thanks,

    Jack

      glad I found this thread,

I thought I had broken some unknown rule as well.

but i came tot he main discussion to see if I could see sigs.

I think it was a good idea who wants to pay the wso fee just to have their thread hijacked.

Best advice is to get over it and move on.

Mods have a tough enough time as it is without having to answer "why did my post/thread get deleted" posts like this one.

It could be anything from what you wrote, whether it was in the right part of the forum, someones else's comments, an arguement you didn't see, absolutely anything.

I have posts removed regularly, so does everyone, it doesn't matter so just move on.

Also any questions on SEO should be in the SEO section and not here. That's most likely why it got deleted or removed.

Incidentally, now you're in a thread about signatures asking why your thread got deleted and that you want to find an SEO rank tracker.

You couldn't get any more off topic if you tried, so your post here will probably get deleted too, I'm afraid.
