Am I on the right track? (Questions about niches)

Hi, as guessed from the title, I'm new to IM.

There are a lot of resources out there to help kick start my own business, some free, some for a small fee. The problem is, there are too many and all seem to be equally helpful, so I'm somewhat confused as to where to start learning.

So far, the steps I'm taking is to watch Ed Dale's The Challenge videos on youtube as they are free. From watching his videos and other various free help videos, what seems like the most important aspect of IM is to find an appropriate niche through research, and that the niche chosen is the deciding factor of how successful the business is, given that effort is put into the project.

Is the Wicked Simple Niches WSO on the Warrior Special Offers Forum worth buying? (Am I allowed to link to WSOs on this forum? Will it be counted as advertising even though that's not my intention?) Is it a risk worth taking to buy that WSO?

I'm currently still brainstorming of good niches to start with (have yet to get to the research part), which led me to think, is coming up with good niches a skill learned from experience, a matter of luck, or just a spark that some people have and some people don't?

Thanks for taking the time to read this wall of text and answering any of the questions.

i reccomend focusing on learning how to rank one keyword first in google using white haat SEO, then converting that keyword into cash through cpa/affiliate programs etc.. once you know the white hat principles and can execute them well the sky is the limit, and your empire will explode.
