Need Direction on 3 month old blog/affiliate site

Hi my name is mike and I am new to warrior forum and new to internet marketing. I have an affiliate blog i made about 3-4 months ago or so. I do some very little ppc advertising so it stays cheap on my end. I have done the yahoo, google, bing webmaster sites and had my site crawled, meta tags posting in social sites, blogs etc. I still have pretty much zero organic traffic. I hear wordpress is way better than blogger but i didnt know that when I made my blogger blog. I tried to figure out wordpress and it seems very confusing. All is all I am lost and have been spending days and weeks trying to promote my site properly to be search engine friendly and get real organic traffic. I know pretty much everyone on this forum isnt going to tell me exactly how to do it but any input or direction would be nice. And no im not looking to get rich or make money fast im just trying to make any money at some point. Thanks for reading this and if you could please help thanks.

Here's some basic checklist pointers... Have you:
    - used Google External Keyword tool to see how competitive you keywords are and number of searches?
    - have you looked at your competitors using SEOQuake (free plugin) for Firefox, to get an idea of what you're up against to get a page #1 Google Rank
    - have you posted any articles with links back to your site?
    - how many inbound links (from relevant topics) do you have? applied some basic onpage SEO to behind with?
    - have you created a squidoo lens, weebly page, hub page and linked into your blog?
    - have you done any social or directory bookmarking?
    - when did you last update your blog?

    - do you have your own keyword derived web-address?
-what on-page SEO have you done so far?
Page Title, MetaTags, MetaDescription, keywords in first paragraph bold, using H1 tags?
    - keyword density?
    - how much (unique) content do you have?

Hope this gives you some pointers - good luck!

I have posted on some other blogs related to my affiliate blog with a link on the post. is that considered a backlink? I still have a subdomain with blogger is that bad? My content is content that I have written myself so I am guessing that would be unique. I have a meta tag with the title, description and about 20 keywords. Im not sure by what you mean by on page SEO H1 tags or a keyword derived web address. I updated my blog 2 days ago. And what are inbound links? Thanks and sorry as I dont know to much about the SEO part of marketing I am self taught for what I know now just by my own research but like I said before....just stuck

Just a quick reply it says google page rank is 0, google index is 2, yahoo links and yahoo link domains are both 0, bing index is 1, alexa rank 23,886,143, robots.txt yes sitemap no, 12 internal links and 53 external links...not sure if that information from seoquake helps or not

You must build links pointing to your site.

Post blog comment or furom comment with links pointing to your site.

    BUILD LINKS

its your to promote a blogsite that is not your own domain since you cant something link directory submission and other stuff..

But if you still want to use blogger do some forum posting and blog commenting
But I really suggest you would buy a domain name for your site if you really want to be seen in search engine.. BLogs can hardly seen on search engine.

Search about Web 2.0 (like: squidoo, hubpages, blogger, wordpress, ezine articles) and create links to them that points to your site.

Visit my site it is properly formatted in On page SEO, view source. find the H1 H2 and H3 Tag.. or you can buy SEOpressor to have good onpage SEO.. if you want I can help you with anything about your site. I have SEOpressor plugin.

There are lots of different kind of plugins available on wordpress some of them are free and the others are for sale. If you are planning to start online marketing advertising, promoting/selling products, etc, you should buy a domain name and not used blogs like blogger, hubpage, or wordpress blog,

Pay attention to this and what Fluffy have said,

Purchase a Domain, Post on Web 2.0 sites pointing at your domain.

You do not own Blogger and eventually it will hinder your business. Get a hosting account and create a Wordpress site and have it Optimized for SEO.

Just buy a domain and hosting.. Buy a domain in godaddy. like $7 for .com and .net.. search in google for "active/working Godaddy coupon codes for 2011" to get discount, choose your a domain carefully. Use google keyword tool.

Buy hosting in hostgator.. It only cost $0.1 for your first month, search in google "active/working hostgator coupon codes for 2011" to get a discount.

Im willing to help you..FREELY...I have Premium Themes Like Woothemes, Thesis, Elegant and will give it to you. I can install wordpress in your site and help you set it up.. It only takes 30 minutes to have a wordpress running website. then you can start building links like directory submission, (listed on this site Free directories, best free directories list, top free directories ) blog commenting, forum posting, Mini Nets. thats the most boring thing when promoting a website..lol.. )

I can set-up everything and you will do the other tasks like Creating Pages..and off page SEO. Its very easy though. if you are interested pm me. or email at kenn.kosher@gmail.com

I'm sorry to say if your blog is 3 months old and not getting any traffic, your simply doing your SEO wrong. You may be targeting too competitive keywords or you may be link building incorrectly. Basically, if your not n the top 5 slots of google yahoo and bing, you won't get much traffic. This is why you need to thoroughly analyse your competition before going into a niche.

        • What are all those irrelevant links in the footer? Is this some sort of free template you're using?

If you want to *make* money, at some point you're going to have to *spend* money.
