Help, my article backlinks are not showing in Google

About 4 weeks ago I started a blog on WP. I then over the following week wrote 9 articles and posted them on good sites like ezine articles, squidoo etc. Each article on a different site. Articles are original and not spun and are completely different from each other.

When I look for my blog's position on google it is still 0 and is showing no backlinks at all.

How do I get my blog to show up on google. I have used an SEO optimized theme and have done blog posts 3 days apart. My blogs are 100% optimized with Clickbump SEO (except two which I think were 90%) so I don't know what more I can do. (By the way, this plugin made a huge difference as to how the site looked).

Other plugins that are supposed to help with this (I think) are

Google XML Sitemaps
All in One SEO Pack
MazBlogPress Ping Optimizer (as I understand that everytime you update a blog post it gets pinged by WP and if you have a lot of amendments this could be a problem).

What should I do? Can anyone help?

Firstly, you're articles may not be indexed. if not they're not going to show as a backlink. Secondly google is a funny old thing, just because you write an article and publish it and google indexes the page this doesn't mean it'll register it as a backlink.

The next thing is have you done you're keyword research and analysed the competition properly. Unless you're trying for a keyword with very little to no competiton 9 articles just isn't going to cut it.

What pages are in the top 10 for your keyword phrase, how old are the domains, what is their PR, how many backlinks do they have, are they well optimised, are many of them top level domains, how many pages are you competing against. Without proper keyword research getting ranked in google is link looking for a needle in a haystack - you have to get real lucky to find it.

If you are relying on a toolbar to show you the number of Google back links you need to understand that this does not show you all the back links Google knows about.

Look at what your tool says about the Warrior Forum and the number of its back links. Google knows about WAY more then its actually divulging in tools like these.

Naturally a new site will show zero even though Google knows about them.

I understand that you are writing articles for backlinks, but to create Google "love", you would do far better posting good, focused articles on your own site first, so that Google indexes them there.

I started a brand new Wordpress blog just two months ago and all I've done is good on-page optimization and post 12 long, focused and I believe well written articles on that blog. I haven't even got around to posting those articles on Ezine Articles yet. I do have Web Traffic Genius Pro loaded and optimized.

That blog is already number 5 for one fairly popular keyword and number 7 for another. Last month I had 945 visitors and so far this month I've has 1,990.

Research the topic of how to index links, there's a difference between google crawling your link and indexing it.
