Could you explain PLR real quick?

Hi guys, I just want to make sure my definition is correct before I sell something with PLR.

Can I give limited PLR, something like, you can use this content for offline customers only etc?

    PLR = Private Label Rights

    Good explanation here ...

With regard to your question, the answer is yes. Just provide a licence document that clearly explains what your customer can do and also include that same detail on your sales page.

    And good luck.

Even though I have seen 'limited' PLR, as a writer, I would never touch the stuff. Even though I know this way of thinking is inaccurate, I feel when you buy buy something with 'limits' on it, then it's not true PLR, it's just a new type of license.

I would feel cheated if I bought PLR and then found out I couldn't' do as I wanted with it.

It's something to consider, only because you may very well be in the right, but do you want your customers to 'feel' cheated with restrictive licenses?

(When I sell PLR, I have let people use it however they want. Otherwise, I call it something else.)

They only feel cheated if you do not tell them what the restrictions are right up front. I have a restriction that the PLR cannot be resold as PLR or with resale rights. To get PLR and resale rights, you have to buy it from me -- but my PLR is educational and can be used for the purchaser's own learning requirements and preferences, too, so it is valuable with or without rights.

These terms are stated right on the sales page along with page and word counts (so they don't buy 46 pages of 20pt type and one quarter of the word count they would expect from page counts.

People only complain when they are misled about what they are getting. If you are honest and give a good. solid description of your offer, they aren't going to buy it unless they are in agreement with the terms and the product description. People don't buy stuff just to whine about it.

This is perhaps one of the most misunderstood aspect of IM.
PLR is short for Private LABEL Rights ie it grants the user the right to relabel the product as their own ie not give attribute to the creator.
Many private label rights products have some type of resell rights and some do not.
An example is limited edition PLR articles where the buyer has rights to use the articles as web content (and claim he wrote them - bit silly mind you if others are able to buy the same articles) but not resell or give them to others to use in the same way

Can I give limited PLR, something like, you can use this content for offline customers only etc?
Sure - just include a text or pdf file clearly stating the limits

I would like to see PLR more clearly marked ie
    PL Resell rights
    PL MRR
    PU(personal use) PLR
    my 2 cents
