  • Its not so much about the number of links (asuming you arent placing 5 or 6 per answer). It is more about the way you use your account. You need to ask questions, answer questions and answer them in a way that is helpful. Posting an answer like "Wow this relly will solve your problem website.com" will get you banned everytime.

Stop spamming. If you are going to use a community, learn how to fake being part of the community, or work on actually becoming a part of the community. I have been using the same account since 2004.

It's not about how many links you include, although you should probably just insert one link and do it as a resource. It is about how helpful you are

exactly that.....the adequate and useful content matters everywhere. I have got some software that helps me replying to some questions to ensure that my posts will stick.

Well that really seems to be already a good advice, but don't you think you can better spend your yahoo answer time on any other good thing, where you're sure that you will not get suspended.

Even if you try to fake every thing very good still there is a change to get your self suspended, so better find other good and reliable solutions for your promotion.

I gave 10 links of my site in Yahoo out of 60 answers. Even though they did not banned. As per my knowledge your answer should be very informative then they will not ban.

It depends on the context. I do a lot of Yahoo answers for retail sites and just link to products people are asking about. Never had an issue.

The most important thing is to actually answer the question - people won't care if you post a ton of links as long as you answer what they ask.

I beg to disagree with you here! I have had some of my post flagged becuase my link looked to commercial. Itwas though I was self promoting.

This best tip is never use an affiliate link and your blog or website should not be too commercial in outlook. This however not apply to the IM niche.

Hoever, it is advisable to never use an affiliate link. You are not here to sell but rather to provide information

The most important thing about using yahoo answers, is to make sure you post helpful and informational answers, that doesn't look like promotional. Make sure that your answer is actually helping the asker.

As long as the link is relevant to the question then it's all good.

1 link should be plenty,, that is,, if you give a good answer. If you make the #1 answer 1 link should be good enough. Nobody's gonna click on 5 links anyway,,, I wouldn't.

    Hi!

I recently started using Yahoo!Answers for getting some traffic to my site, and then today I had a similar bad experience like you, and my account got suspended. I wrote at least 150 words answers to all questions, and only included my website's link in the resource box every 2 or 3 answers making sure that the person who initiated the question may find related information on my website. And there was no direct promotion or anything like that, just a informational answer and then a simple link in the resource box.
I answered 32 questions in the first day with a level 2 account. And then I got suspended. So that's it, absolutely not worth the effort, no matter how often you include your link in your answers. If YA feels like you are trying to promote something, it's going to ban you. And the traffic I received too isn't that great. My WP stats plugin shows a whopping 14 visitors referred by Yahoo! Answers.

So my suggestion would be to look after other traffic sources.

Totally agree Billie, it's a strain and I had the same experience. Now there's new software to be found here on the forum (ghostreckon) which should avoid getting banned...

One can't deny the number of visitors on Yahoo...

But in the meantime I lost two level 2 accounts and all answers erased and they where even voted 22% best answers...

Here's a copy of what I wrote to Yahoo ''Abuse'' service just for info ( and maybe I will post their answer if I will get any ...) :

      Hello Staff,

I am extremely surprised to see that my account is being suspended. I have been working real hard, and I mean working my fingers to the bone to provide high quality and correct answers !

How long will this suspension last ? Forever ? Or is this temporary ?

      My username is xxxxxxxxxxxx

When I see the number of spammers out there, I wonder what policy you apply.

And yes I supplied some links related to me, so what ? Half of yahoo answers is plastered with ridicolous ans senseless answers and with live links !

I have tried to apply a correct, polite and friendly behaviour and trying to add information of interest to the community.

The best proof : I got 22% best answers in a short period of time !

I am sure you can re-consider my account being suspended.

      Best,

      Walter

traffic went from 700 per day to 170 per day if i'm lucky.

and i answered all of the questions that were asked, i didnt just leave a link.

    im pissed

At least 1 but not more than 2, enable not to be considered as a spammer.
More than 2 links are more prone to considered as spammer and enough to trigger a red lights over yahoo answer board.
