Do self-promoting articles get picked up and shared?

My internet experience has been with local website ranking and have never needed to use article marketing other then the backlink and taking up additional spots in the serps for my local keyword.

By self promoting, I am just referring to an outgoing link to the website, not actual self-promoting through the article. I want my articles to be real useful and informative and not about my website and how good my product is.

I'm just finishing a new e-commerce website that sells real goods that I will stock and ship. Its a small-sub niche but nonetheless, people are searching and buying my product.

I would like to be able to create articles that actually have a chance to be picked up and syndicated. With your experience, can an article that has any self-promotion of the website actually get picked up and distributed?

Will blogs/magazine type sites and similar share an article that links out to the website that sells that particular product?

I want to create quality content that is actually useful, helpful, etc. In a way I want to create and/or add to the growing trend for my product.

I guess I want the most bang for buck, but not sure how to distribute my content without appearing spammy.

Not sure if I made myself clear, I am frustrated on where to start with this.

Thanks

Most of the article sits like ezine articles only allow links in the author credits, where a link to their site is expected. It pays to write useful content, not only to have the submission approved but to help it rank and get more visible mention.

I do agree with Webapex on that, you certainly will need to focus on the message you are trying to get across to your audience so that can they get something out of what you are trying to say. As for the seo side it it will help greatly to have a link pointing back to your site with regards. I must say though, if you are trying to gain trust from your readers you will also need to bookmark your articles after each submissions and then put your rss feed on both you article submission and bookmark URLS. bY Syndicating your conent you will slowly rise to become an authority in your chosen niche but this practice must be repeated like a schedule every week.

    I hope that helps

Quality content is the main reason an audience get the article's attention (so they easily get picked up). If your audience think that is something of value to other concerned then it is something worth sharing.

In that case, clearly the answer is "yes".

What you describe is the syndication model of article marketing, through which many hundreds (if not thousands) of article marketers make their full-time livings and build their businesses.

I would hope so ... you won't get them syndicated any other way.

Here are two threads which may help you ...

This thread is all about "How to increase the likelihood of article syndication" ...

And this is about something pretty similar ....

I agree with the posts above. Quality is important if you want people to share your articles. Try to put quality, unique articles out there!
