Prosper 202 Question

I've been looking for a way to cloak links and track them all the way to the sale.

I have Power Link Generator, but it only allows you to create a link in the domain.com/recommends format. This works for people on your list: people who know you, like you and trust you. It's NOT appropriate for people coming in cold, like from articles, search engines, etc.

It's my understanding that Prosper 202 will let you make a link that looks like anything and re-directs to whatever page you want your prospects to go to.

For example, suppose I'm selling an dog training product as an affiliate. My aff link looks like DogTrainingMadeEasy.com/id=Nightengale

Suppose I find and buy the domain MyDogTrainingSecrets.com and want to use that to promote my aff link. So my PPC visitors, visitors who come from my articles, etc. see ONLY MyDogTrainingSecrets.com

Is this what Prosper 202 does? I'd appreciate any clarification.

    Hi Michelle,

    I've just started using this service myself. I don't know all the ins and outs yet as I'm mainly doing media buys right now and the URL is unimportant.

    But here's an explanation of the latest Adwords URL rule in the context of using Propser202 or Tracker202:
    propser202.com/blog/new-google-adword-rule

    Here is what a Prosper202 direct linking tracking link looks like:

    http://ad-trackr.com/tracking202/redirect/dl.php?t202id=9298&t202kw=

    Now if you want to make a nice link for your articles you would use a PHP, Java, or meta refresh redirect.

    So you could have a link that looks like:

    yourdomain.com/keyword.html

    and redirect that to your tracking link.

    You place some Prosper202 analytic code on your landing page and a tracking pixel on your thank you page.

    You can now track which articles are making conversions. You would simply use tracking links for your PPC ads and everything else is in place.

      I found your WSO earlier for the training videos for Prosper 202 and bookmarked it. I'm close to launching my marketing campaign and I need to track EVERYTHING.

        Prosper202 and Tracking202 are both free, as I'm sure you already know. As are the active support forums for each.

        You needn't pay anyone for for these excellent services or support.

          No you don't have to pay for the software or support.

          I simply show you how to use Prosper202 to track all marketing links, not just PPC, among other things.

          The software is actually very powerful and can be used beyond what it was designed for.

      Tracking202 (service) / Prosper202 (self hosted) both are free... Mainly designed for PPC >> Affiliate Network (direct linking) or PPC >> Landing Page >> Affiliate Network - can cloak affiliate links to hide keyword data from affiliate network, slightly different than making them look nice.

      Although if using a landing page there is link cloaking to make them look good for the outbound link.


      AdTrackz looks decent, costs $77, not all that familiar with it other than the sales page. Designed to cloak your links and track them as well as PPC keywords.

    Prosper202/Tracking202 are essentially the same thing. Previously the 202 guys created their software to only run on their servers, but also of people complained about this (confidentiality) and therefore they created a self hosted version which is P202/T202.
