Which I knew which one...

I am getting hammered with calls from telemarketers from one of the IM purchases I made. I never give my cell phone out as a general rule but, on some higher ticket items in IM I have included it. The last call came from 775-358-8842.

I am wanting to figure out which one of the " guru's " is the culprit and reach through my Internet connection and unplug their phone bank......any ideas ? I have a few that it may be and I will be chocked if it is any one of them.

    Have not read the threads completely but don't give over any info. There's probably some information in those pages on how to get them to stop calling you.

    Looks like it's from some Biometrics company from Nevada asking people if they want to make money from home. It sounds like a scam, and one person said their grandparents got ripped for $10,000. I would avoid them like the plague.

      Can you block the number? If not, when they call, tell them that you want them to stop calling you and you will report them to the Better Business Bureau if they don't. Sometimes playing hardball back at 'em works.

      Of course, you could also say "enterpryzman" does not live her any more.

        I also have call display, since I only know people in two different area codes, calls from any other area codes simply go unanswered.

    Some of the "gurus" sell your telephone number to companies promoting very high priced "business opportunities". These people call you up and ask you how much funds you have available for this opportunity. Oddly enough, the course often costs exactly what you have available if it's in the thousands. They call and call and call, even when you've told them to bug off ... that you're not interested.

    If you tell them you don't have any funds available, they tell you to take out a loan ... that you and your company are going to lose without this "valuable information course".

    What a bunch of rot and shame on the sellers who sell your info to these scam artists.

    Unfortunately MANY of the popular marketing guru products are just front ends for boiler room operations that will take the next step after the product purchase to make sure the buyer feels like they will not succeed with their purchase unless they buy the rather costly upsell and they will hammer you for life with that upsell or next product.

    It's a horrible business model and hopefully as consumers become more aware these practices will stop in the IM community. MOST of these gurus dont even know jack about how to do the internet marketing part, they are just very good salesmen with teams of actual marketers doing all the work with the front man guru taking the credit. The actual knowledge to do what they do is not something they even possess, they just had enough financial backing to pay the right people to pull off their "internet famous" image.....and that is all it really is...smoke and mirrors.

    If it's a regular phone number, I'm not sure if you can block a certain caller but with a VoiP number like Skype, you are able to block anyone, including numbers.
