Don't Promote Your Own Sites Using Google Promote Button

Some weeks ago I used the Google Promote button to a site of mine to test if it will improve my rankings but instead of raising my rank, the reverse happened. When I searched my keyword while logged off from Google account, my site went from number 3 to a whopping 162 in the SERPs, what a price to pay! Its either my competitors have mass demote my site or Google just found out I promoted my own site, although I think the latter is much probable. So to be safe, don't use it to promote your own sites.

    That sucks. I'm sorry. Learning the best ways to get ranked in the SERPS can be really frustrating. Sometimes when I try new things with my sites I find them landing on their face, sometimes I find them rising high in the sky. You got to test it to learn.
