The RIGHT Way To Write A Product Review

So I was wondering what IS the RIGHT way a product review should flow?

For example, I'm reviewing an eBook about Dog Training, should the outline go a little like this:

1. Show title and picture of Dog Training eBook.
2. Pros
3. Cons
4. Recommended or not
5. Real consumer insights

OR

1. Show title and picture of Dog Training eBook
2. Recommended or not
3. Real consumer insights
4. Pros
5. Cons

Just wondering which outline do you guys use to get the most conversions. Any advice would be great

I know as a salesman for 10 years or so, the last thing I would ever do is name the cons last. You want to leave a positive impression in a person's mind, and they are going to remember the first thing you say and the last thing you say. What's in the middle is normally tuned out. Don't ever ever ever put the cons last.

In fact, if you're promoting your own stuff...why list any cons at all?

Your first outline is better than the second. I'd have to agree with JaRyCu that having the cons at the end will leave a bad impression.

From a Physical Product review prospective

If the product has really bad negatives that would put the buyer off purchasing, I would not be reviewing it anyway, I always add any minor negatives and finish off the review with an final overview where all the positives are highlighted leaving a positive impression on the reader.

I personally use the end of the review to discuss my recommendation of the product. I tend to start out with a brief overview, followed by the pros and cons, and then the recommendation. If I need to flesh out the review a bit more, I will include what others have said about the product right after the cons.

My formula usually relies more on focusing on the problem that the person is trying to solve with the problem.

I first instigate the problem...really make them feel it.

Then I mention some solutions to that problem, and then finally how MY product (or the product I'm reviewing) is the best choice of all the solutions. But I don't just tell them that it is, I tell them WHY. What that product did for me, and how it solved my problem.

    Hope that helps a bit!
