How to drive more traffic?

My site is ranked number 1 and 2 on two main keywords. Having more than 1500 exact searches each. But i am not seeing that much traffic.
Is there any other way to get more traffic to my website. like article submission and directory submission. Do they really work ?
I have not submitted a single article to rank my site, will traffic increase if i do it.
As my site is ranked well on all possible keywords. I GUESS !!!

    what are you using to check on monthly searches? adwords keyword tool is set to "broad" match by default which does not give an accurate count.... make sure you check "exact" match to get a true number... you may find that your keywords do not get many searches...

    There are lots of ways to get more traffic. Articles, Directory Submissions, PPC, Social Media, Forums, Ezine Advertising to name a few. Have a look at a keyword tool such as Wordtracker. What happens when people get to the website? What are you selling? Do you have first rate content? Do you provide value?

      Make sure your site title and description is going to entice someone to click into your site first off. What is in it for them to click into your site? Are you selling a product or service? Are you targeting buyer keywords? There is a lot to consider. Are the other competitors websites more enticing and people are clicking on their site instead of yours?

        This is really important!! You can be number one in any keyword you want, but if your title and description are not compelling enough then the traffic is going to jump right over you and click the second or third in the SERPs. So, try testing more compelling titles and descriptions.

        You have to be clear though, that any change you make to your pages won´t be reflected in search engines SERPs right away, so you have to wait like four days or a week maybe for the search engine to read your page again and make the modifications in its index, and then you have to wait for at least another week to see if the traffic is improving.

        You have to be very patient when it comes to SEO.

    There are plenty of possibilities. The best free one is to rank for some more keywords as well, then you'll get more visitors in return. Facebook is another possibility.

    However, you have to keep in mind that other traffic sources, that drive much traffic to your website are usually not for free, or require a lot of work in advance, such as list building.

    I have mentioned that there are EXACT 1500 searches for both keywords. Separately. It is basically an amazon review site.
    And to be more precise on question.
    DOES ARTICLE MARKETING INCREASES YOUR TRAFFIC ?
    If so how or an example will do it.

      Rickie is 100% right on this. A few quick media buys will increase your traffic over night, as long as they are strongly related to your niche.

    probably the title and description is not attractive to catch the attention of the searches. How are you testing your search engine traffic. Use google analytics or awstats if you are using cpanel hosting platform and you should get the keywords your site is getting traffic from.

    yes, article marketing will increase your traffic but make sure you focus on quality and quantity. If you write just 1 article every day don't expect to see huge results, write atleast 10 articles every single day as this will boost your search engine ranking and direct traffic from articles after you have posted few 100 articles.

    Also participate regularly in forums, this should again help you out to drive traffic. Another cool trick is to get involved in joint venture marketing, send solo ad mailing to other list of subscribers, do ad swaps and purchase leads and test out the response using co registration. Probably a good place to start can be getresponse leads and test if they are converting...

    relevant forums would help a lot. IF its IM then it is Warrior Forum.. find related forums in the niche and see if they have the "BLOG" feature in it which helps both traffic and in SEO..

      Social networking would be the right choice. Great uses of social media possibly helped you. I think you should go for quality traffic instead of just normal traffic. That is good thing that your keywords has higher ranking but you are right traffic is necessary.

    I would say start paying for PPC this is a good start. I also would recommend you to make sure the words you are ranked on are the best for your website (you maybe optimizing the wrong keywords)

    go to the most likely places that your prospects are hanging out, help them and tell them about your site.

    Sit down and ask yourself "where is the most likely place my customers are hanging out!?"

    When you can answer that, you need to go there and put your messages infront of them. You can do this many ways, or outsource others to do the dirty work for you! :-)

    im very new to the I-M world only been at it a month, but i was told from the beginning to try and get a list together, which i have been doing, the way i drive my traffic to my squeeze page sites is through solo ads. I havent tried other methods yet as mentioned above as i dont want to get too confused at this early stage, but solo ads has worked for me getting traffic.

    What country are you ranked for the keywords in? And what countries are sending the most traffic to those keywords? This is where your problem might lie.

    If you want to go further down the organic traffic route, then I suggest targeting more keywords. Just make sure you do it carefully, to avoid any problems like the ones you have now.
