How to add DIFFERENT custom footerlinks in wordpress on each page?

Does any one know how to add custom footer-links in wordpress?

I mean.... to make my site more SEO optimized, I want to add DIFFERENT custom footer links on each page of my wordpress site.

So, this makes the site more robust in terms of the SEO PR juice that's flowing within the website and the internal linking structure.

The problem with wordpress is whenever I try to add footer links using the different 'footer widgets' available in the widgets section, those links appear in each and everypage. I don't want this.

Please suggest a plugin or code which will enable me to put DIFFERENT custom footer links in DIFFERENT pages of my site.

Thanks in advance.

Just curious, but why would you want different footer links on each page? Why not just add different links in with your posts or pages that point to different areas of your site?

For most of my websites using Wordpress, I usually link within content to other internal pages, as well as insert a "Related Posts/Articles" area in each post and physically post links to other related material at the end of each article as well. Has always worked well for me both in terms of SEO and better site navigation.

I've been through an SEO course of Stompernet (SEO Company) and they suggested to do it that way. That's why...

If you have a theme that includes a widget area in the footer, it's easy. Install the free Widget Logic plugin. Drag as many Text widgets as you like into the footer widget area, and use the Widget Logic settings to cause each one to display only under the conditions you wish.

If your current theme doesn't include a widget area in the footer, and if you don't know how to add one, I'll suggest the free Atahualpa theme, which has all that flexibility and much more.

        Hope this helps.

OK. Why didn't they tell you also HOW to do it in the case of a WP blog?

Just wondering: are you sure it was about the footer of the whole blog or about the 'footer of every post/Page'? - Big difference.

Aside from the widget logic plugin mentioned above (which would work very well with a widgetized footer) - you can do it manually using a zillion of conditional statements in your footer

No plugins that I know of.

There are any number of ways to vary the content of the footer, but nothing that's particularly easy. It's not as simple as to just "insert some code", in essence you're going to need to have your own plugin or theme modification done by an experienced WordPress person.

Could you tell more information about the SEO course and how you would want the footers in the pages displayed. I think you would need a plugin and not just code..

As Steve said - the widget logic plug-in is your friend. It allows you to specify which widgets appear on which pages.

You could then use any theme that has widgets in the footer - it's kind of "fashionable" at the moment. Not sure why, as most users never scroll that far down a page.

As Steve also said, the Atahualpa theme has a facility built in which will allow you to set up your own custom widget areas.
