I hear that it is quite easy for people to find your download page and steal your product. How can I prevent this?

    The best way is to use one of the many many scripts that are designed to protect downloads behind secure logins.

    There are numerous ways to do this, from basic download protection scripts to full fledged membership scripts, and no one solution is right for everyone. I would suggest doing a google search for download protection and see what you come up with.

    Hire a big anrgy bouncer to stand next to your server and slap anyone that gets near your download page. .50 caliber machine guns work well too. Occassionally I use Ninjas. They're not as intimidating, but man can they mess a guy...or girl up.

      You can change your product file name and download page regularly as well although this is a bit of a pain.

          I mentioned download protection products above, but I'm not going to give out a name brand of a competitior..lol

              Today I found a software installation link in my 2gig downloaded files, can't remember, if I bought it or where it comes from, must be there for some years. Anyway, it's called downloadwarrior.exe and sits in my folder "Alousoftware", and I found this product on Alou Web Site Design. after some googleing today..
              When I clicked on the file, my "Kaspersky Internet Security" popped up and warned me, that this would be typical behavior of a trojan, hmmm ....
              I did not install the software and now my question is here, how to find out, if there really is a trojan in this software or not? Anybody out there with experience installing downloadwarrior.exe?
              And then I found a file on my hd: downloadwarrior.htm
              Never seen this before, shame on me. It reads interesting, would be exactly what I need. I uploaded it to my server so you can read it, if interested:

              but I'm not a member there, as far as I know, but don't know, how many memberships I have, what a mess.
              And in this folder "Alousoftware" are more programs I never opened or used:
              CommissionBooster.exe

              SpambotGuardian.exe
              Anybody heard of or used these? Don't want some bad surprises, you know ...
              Somebody hid bombs in there?
