Someone Wanted To Buy Banner Space On My High Traffic Site, How Should I Respond?

Hello Warriors, today, I got an email from someone who wants to buy banner space on my high traffic website. Here is the email:

From: (hidden to protect name)@larkoagency.com

Subject: We would like to buy banner space on (hiddensitename.com).

Hi,

I am sorry I have to write you to e-mail from whois information of the domain. But I could not find contact e-mail or feedback form on your site.
We are looking for new advertisement platforms and we are interested in your site (hiddensitename.com to prevent potential competition).
Is it possible to place banner on your site on a fee basis?

Best regards,
(name hidden to protect person)

So I believe that the website is called LarkoAgency.com because of the email. The site is in French or Spanish, I think French. Apparently, when I translated the site, it seems to be a media marketing agency.

So, what do I do?

UPDATE: Turns out it is the infamous scam from a company in Paris France! Check out the reply post from LarryC!

  • What to do? Erm, if you want to sell ad space, reply saying this? If you don't want to sell ad space, reply saying this?

If you mean how to price advertising space, do you have other ads which you can use for comparison purposes?

Check out this thread and make sure it's not the same company:

A lot of people have been getting requests from them, and it seems to be some kind of scam.

Do some research on the keywords that your site is ranking for. Then check to see what the adsense cost is for similar keywords. that will give you a good starting point and way to rationalize your pricing if the client tries to negotiate you down.

    Example:

If the adsense keyword value is approx. $2 and you estimate that they should get a minimum of 10 clicks per day based on your traffic stats. then it wouldn't be unreasonable to begin negotiating with a price of $600 per month ($2 x 10) daily.
