I think your account might be banned if it looks as though you're renting out sig-file-space (that's seriously disallowed), and/or otherwise linking to sites you don't yourself own.

The sig-file rules are in this post.

I'm wondering how you came to the conclusion that he wants to rent out his sig space or link to sites he doesn't own.

CooLife, you can have as many links as you like but at a maximum of 5 lines.

I didn't come to that conclusion, Mike. I didn't come to any "conclusion" at all.

It did occur to me as a possibility, though, because (a) the last few times this question's been asked that's clearly been the underlying motivation, and (b) there's a "service" being promoted elsewhere, at the moment, which involves the marketing of exactly that, in this forum, so it's rather "current". Not to mention, of course, that (c) I do have some skepchick leanings, and I found it slightly difficult to imagine a whole lot of innocent reasons for this question being asked ...

I think i am not clear . Lets say i commented in one blog and for that i will get one backlink. I want to index that backlink . So i will put the page URL of that blog in my signature . So will it violates?????(Bcz the url i kept is not mine , some high PR blog but my comment will be there in that page )
OP. Please read the rules and re-read what has already been said. The site must be yours and no affiliate links. There are ways and means of using this forum and indexing backlinks you've placed on blogs is most certainly not one of them.

Just read again what others have said and then the rules again. Doing what you've said above is not allowed.

Psst - If you write a guest post on a blog that is not yours and want to promote it with your sig, that can be logical
Sorry it isn't logical. You don't own the blog, it's not your site, therefore you can't link to it. That's why in the rules it says..

      (5) No Affiliate Links Allowed - Promote Your Own Domain/s Only. It's either this or we have to cut out sig files altogether which we do not want to do.

EDIT ADDED 3 May 2011: The new WarriorPlus affiliate links for WSOs are not allowed either.
So, promote your own domains only.

What happened to the good ole "Presume innocent until proven guilty"? He is asking a simple question that needs a simple answer and you acuse him of using his sig space for something that is against the rules.

Just becuase it may be a possibility (which there is with everything), doesn't mean it will be. Give newcomes to the forum a fair shake of the swizzle stick.

That's wrong, Mike. I "accused" nobody of anything. I provided information which I felt was relevant and apposite. Read my post again.

I understand that you may disagree with that evaluation, but please don't turn this thread into yet another of your pointless arguments. It contributes nothing to the forum at all. If you were unhappy with my response, a p.m. would have been an appropriate way to convey that.

Nagger! Please let's not complicate simple things plus let's not try to look like too caring with all our typo's. That's a waste of time or was that intended to increase the post count?

As long as they are your sites, you can do that. You can fit as many links as will take up no more than 5 lines at normal default sizes. If you read the basic signature rules, that should help you avoid any issues.

      Here's what the rules say:

      http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int....html#post6484

      (5) No Affiliate Links Allowed - Promote Your Own Domain/s Only. It's either this or we have to cut out sig files altogether which we do not want to do.

EDIT ADDED 3 May 2011: The new WarriorPlus affiliate links for WSOs are not allowed either.

      (6) Anyone Caught Promoting The Same Site/Offer Will Be Deleted. Program owners are telling their members to come here and make posts to promote their offer in their sig files. This has caused tons of useless messages to be posted and it is clogging up the forum. Anyone caught doing this will have to be removed. This is not an ad forum - it is a discussion forum.

Ya in your case that's totally a violation. If you write a guest post on a blog that is not yours and want to promote it with your sig, that can be logical coz I see some people including their hubs on hubpages or articles on article directories in their sig file but still I am not sure if that is allowed.

You may contact the Help desk to further clarify this:

NO ... you cannot do that. You can ONLY list sites that you OWN in your signature. No affiliate links either.
