What do I do with people on teleseminar list?

I was wondering if someone could enlighten me on what to do with my list of people I have built doing a teleseminar.

I interviewed someone and he agreed to email his list for the interview. Well, my list grew +100 in about 2 days. Well, we did the call last night and now I'm confused as to what to do with the people on this list I created specifically for the teleseminar.

Do I send them a message asking them to sign up for my free report? This would put them on my main mailing list/sales funnel (where I want them to be.)

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

    Hey Garrett,

Nice going taking some massive action.

Well If the attendees didn't get a recording of the telesiminar you could either sell that to them at a discount, and see if you want to get any takers.

Of if you have other products that are in line with your teleseminar, you could build good will and give away the recording, and have a (Soft-Offer) on your download page.

While the list is still fresh, you might want to... ask them to do you a favor and create a survey to see what your list is interested in and WHAT THEY WANT, before they get their downlowd.

I could go on a bit longer but I don't want to carried away.

    Anyway... There you go.

    Congrats

Thanks for your input. However, the challenge I'm having is that I want to put these people on my main list.

Should I send them to my opt in page for my main list?

        Hey Garrett,

Oh I see, you now have a seperate list from you main list. Then you can just create something cool for the new list, and send them to a squeeze page that will shuffle them into your main list. People do this all of the time.

The reason other marketers do this is because they are segmenting their list. They are creating mini list, that are specialized around certain sub-niches. That way they know which people like list building, which people like video marketing, which like affiliate marketing and which people are interested in product creation, and so on.

I'm on a lot of list. And I'm always having to optin to get some special content or video or something.

If what ever you going to give them is good, or if it is something that you think your main list would like as well; Just make another page just for them. (No optin form).

If you have any other questions.

Teleseminar leads can be red hot.

If you have a high end package or service then I would consider mailing them and offering free phone consultations.

At the end of your free consultations, make an offer for your high ticket product or service.

Just an idea... These subscribers are different than your rest though because they see you in higher authority because you did a call.

Capitalize on it while they're hot.

      Thanks for all the help.

I went ahead and sent out a "free gift" to the people who signed up for my teleseminar so they will opt in to my main mailing list.

However, only about 20% of those people signed up to my main list.

Now I have 80% of the people still on the teleseminar list. Any idea on what to do with these people?

      Thanks in advance.

Why not offer them a free copy of the recording in exchange for them opting in?

    Hey Garrett,

Nice going on getting out the free gift. If only 20% switched over, then it just means that the free gift wasn't for everyone. Don't worry about it. You could have a really killer gift or offer, sometimes still not everybody is going to take it.

Well if you have Aweber, you can't merge multiple list to make one main list. But, Aweber has a function called: (Include or Exclude Other List). What this does is, it lets you send broadcast emails to Multiple List. And I do believe Aweber is even smart enough to see when people are on more than one list, so you don't have to worry about people getting the same email twice.

To find out how to do this with Aweber. Just click on the help link at top. Then type: "How do I send a broadcast message to multiple list?" inside the search box, and it should come up.

If you don't have Aweber, you can just check to see if your Email Service allows you to Merge List. If they don't, you can see if they have a (Include or Exclude Other List), like Aweber does.

And as what do with the other 80%. If you know that they have the same kinds of interest as the people on you Main List do, then either create some content, or finds some good content; Or do some research and find a cool How-To Tip that you can give them in an email or on your site. And give it to them for free.(No Opt In.) If I were you, I'd just write the information inside the email you send out.

You know like, "Hey Garrett here, I was just messing around and I came accross this cool (whatever it is.) enjoy.

    or

    Garrett here,

I just found some real killer info on How to Facebook Vistors to Pay for your College!
    Yeah, I know. It's crazy isn't it?

Well, let me stop stalling. All you have to do is Blah Blah Blah...Content.. Content...

You get the idea. When you do this your subscribers will say WoW, that Garrett Cool.
Sometimes when you email them, give them a small story about something that happened to you. And then give them some content. When you do this mix of content and story about you. You build trust. Because your subscribers begin to...
(Know You-Like You-And Trust You.) And they will begin to buy what you sell or recommend.

WARNING! Don't Ever Sell or Push Crap Products or Services to you list. If you do, you will Undo all of the relationship building that created.

At this stage of the game it's time to start building a relationship with your two list. Then you can start to recommend (send) them affiliate product offers.

Good Email Marketing usually goes like this:

    Day 1: Content
    Day 2: nothing
    Day 3: Content
    Day 4: nothing

Day 5: Pitch(Offer) Affiliate product or your own product.
    Day 6: Content
    Day 7: nothing
    Day 8: nothing
    Day 9: Content
Day 10 Pitch(Offer)Affiliate product or your own product.
    and so on...

Anyway you can handle this anyway you want really. There are some marketers who give their list content 4 days, and then send some kind of Offer on day 5.

And there are some marketers who email their list every day twice a day with Offers. Normally I wouldn't recommend this. So it is really up to you.

Wow, Thanks for the input. I really wish I could merge the two lists together. I am using Aweber, so I guess I'll just give another free offer to optin for.

Jeff Walker uses a trick he showed in his plf 3.0 course where he starts his teleseminar sign ups on message 999 of his main list, and then he will have the follow up replay messages autorespond to the sign ups.

Then once he's done with the teleseminar and the replays have been sent, he calls Aweber and they manually take those people and move them to message 1 on his list.

This way he doesn't create a gazillion lists for each teleseminar. I might try that next time so I don't have lots of people left on my teleseminar list.

    Thanks for your help.

Thanks Garrett, that sounds like a pretty cool little trick. Also, I was wondering; How did you get that first Interview? I know some ways myself, but everyone has a slightly different experience.

And yes I know you just asked, but how did you ask? Did you already know your Interviewee? Did you send an email? Go ahead and share the magic.

Actually I called the guy I interviewed. You can get most phone numbers for websites by doing a whois search. I think the address is whois.net or whois.com.

In my opinion calling is the only way. It's the best way to break through all the emails that people get each day. If you do email you're just another email, out of hundreds.

I would call if I was you and just ask them if you can interview them. Then put the interview somewhere at the beginning of your autoresponder. I was surprised at how much credibility this has built for me.
