Who would you recommend for a reseller account? And for an affordable hosting company that's just for one website hosting? Thanks.

Get your VPS for reselling hosting packages. VPSes comes with host tech support with more control on hosting.

Thank you for the reply. Sorry but what is a VPS? Do all reseller hosting packages offer it?

VPS is a Virtual Private Server. Like it is a part of a dedicated server. You will get root access like dedicated server. But cheaper than dedicated server.

It has it's own resources. It will be easy for you to maintain hosting with it by your own hosting packages, accounts etc.

Great, thank you. Does it come standard with the reseller package...you just have to ask for it or does it cost more?

Think is unlimited domains not subdomains, that is what I understand anyway ...

For best value for the money, hostpc.com is my recommendation.
They have 2 classes of reseller accounts, the link for them is in the
footer. They do offer unlimited domains on all their plans.

HG and H4P both rub me wrong for the same reason, a huge affiliate
commission pay out. I don't like that way of doing things because
that money does not go to hosting equipment or expenses. By
contrast hostpc pays 10% of your first order, around $2.60 up to
    about $10 or $15.

Of course that is just a minor point to most people and is not at all
my main reason for using them.

So I'll just give you the links and not turn this into a long post with
    a lot of detail.

DirectAdmin from HostPC Internet Services - Your Premium Best
    Quality DirectAdmin Host
(direct link), and hostpc.com (affiliate link).

OK. But that other host may spend that same amount on advertising instead. A good reason for a host to pay commissions is that it is extremely expensive to advertise web hosting services using PPC.

Question: how does using subdomains affect your rankings? Let's say you setup 100 websites "different themes - non related to each other" by using unlimited "subdomains" with a hosting company that only charges lets say $5.95/month. Will the individual websites not rank as well had you used unlimited "domains" on a reseller account that charges let's say $24.95/month?

The economy is tough and I don't want to spend more than I have to. Thanks for your thoughts!

Look into Bluehost.com. Excellent customer service, easy to navigate and very affordable. Lots of options + unlimited domains. I left Hostgator a year ago for Bluehost and haven't regretted it.

I'm currently with GoDaddy, and according to everything I've read on the WF, it is NOT the place to do anything other than buy domains. So here's a vote against them.
