well thats appreciated.... but i am currently running on a shoe string budget mode...

... that swells my budget well over by $20... calculating that sum in INR.... Rs 1000... hmm.. thats two thirds of what my parents offer me as pocket money....

Tons of money to be made in India without spending anything out of your pocket at all... Try your hand at sales (consultative selling to be precise)... print out a single page squeeze patter (with a squueze form on the back) and speed post it to your target audience (local businesses)... or if even Rs. 12 is not affordable, drop them by hand. Then call them up, and sell.

Before you know it, you'll be making Rs. 5000 per day.

Any kid that comes to me to learn how to make money... I tell him the same thing.

Don't need a domain name. Indian people are hungry for the right advice.. they need it, and they'll love you for it.

P.S. Getting good at sales takes some time, but before you know it you'll be selling like a hotshot. You will probably not close a single person in your first 50 phone calls, but once you start closing... it's all downhill.

Here's how I save money on domain registration:
Personally I use Godaddy for all my hosting so I like to register my domains there as well. But I don't want to pay 11.95 or the 9.95 or even the "special price" of 7.49 often advertised on Google.

If you search Google for "Godaddy" or "Godaddy Domain" you'll see an ad that offers the special price of 7.49 but if you search "Godaddy Discount" you'll always get a godaddy ad offering a special discount price of 5.99. At the moment you can also enter the search for "domain" and get the 5.99 price. Of course keywords change from time to time and if they do just try a few variations and you'll find the 5.99 discount everytime.

That's how I get the best price on domains from Godaddy.

I wouldn't recommend using the same company for domain registration and hosting. If you ever had a hosting issue and your account got suspended (even through no fault of your own), you'd be stuffed.

If you had your domains registered elsewhere, you could transfer them to a different host and keep your business running.

Just something to ponder.

Totally spot on. I am still in arbitration with a popular webhost that I also purchased domains at. Hosting and domains should be from separate locations.

In my case I even lost access to my own NAME ie. Scottmanesis.com, basically due to the host giving slow loading bandwidth ( I mean really 3 minutes to load an html page with NO graphics on it?) and me telling the company to shove their hosting plan, well they sure did...and froze all my domain names and made me jump through hoops to transfer domains to a different registrar and still denied the transfer due to legal action that I initiated upon them.

So, yeah. Never host and buy domains at the same place! Take it from my experience.

I used the link a couple of months ago after searching for "Namecheap Coupon" and it only allowed me to get 3 domains for the $5.99 price. Maybe if I search for a different term I'll get another 3 at the price.

the same happened with netfirms 4.95 registration which had a sh*it limit of 5... since the domains were precious... and counting 3 from 10 in my inventory were already lost... so had to immidiately take ACTION...

NOW I HAVE 7 EXACT MATCH DOMAINS, EACH HAVING A COOL HUNDRED THOUSAND EXACT SEARCHES EVERY MONTH.

If you mean registering multiple domains in the same transaction, I'm not sure because I usually only register one domain at a time. But, I have register many domains in the past using this method all added to the same account over time and it's always worked out.

They only sell domain cheap if you buy hosting with it. There is another site I know of that sell domain for 1.99 a pop if you buy hosting with it which is like 3.99 a month? Yeah.

no sir,

that never happens... once you buy hosting with a host (i bought from awardspace around a year ago for $19, unlimited plan, as part of october promotions)... then you can buy domains from any registrar...

i have domains registered from godaddy, bigrock, namecheap... just at your domain control panel, you need to set your nameservers to your hosting, and you need to add that domain to your hosting account, everything is handled automatically thereafter... you are done...

I had the same problem. Couldn't figure out how to buy the hosting first and then the domain and it was taking too much time so I bought it as one package. It only cost me an additional 7 dollars to do it that way but it was worth alleviating the endless researching I was doing.

I will know for next time to register the domain somewhere else and add it to my hosting...I just have to remember how that is done - that will be a few hours of joy I'm sure. I know there is a free video telling me how to do it so I'm hoping it won't take me an entire night to figure it out.

Because I did purchase the domain and the hosting together then I now know the site will be down if the server goes down...but are there other things I need to be aware of?

not few hours... its rather 2 minutes...

just point your domain at any registrar to any hosting using nameservers...
in your domain setting tab add nameservers..
eg:
NS1.YOURHOSTING.COM
NS2.YOURHOSTING.COM
NS3.YOURHOSTING.COM
NS4.YOURHOSTING.COM

these records are added to the DNS servers.. since DNS servers mimic each other around the globe... it happens almost instantaneously , but still they claim... that it can take upto 72 hours... (counting a stale DNS being repaired on the south pole

)...

they gave me $9/domain roughly plus... with .org i get a free .info if available... just registered 5.orgs and e .nets and got 2 .info free... so thats like 9 domains for $64... ~~ $7/domain... the actual price is not in the cost... but the value...

Usually you can get a great deal just search "discount go daddy", or "domains special discount", watch as the prices fluctuate.
Look for special discount of a domain plus cheap hosting, just be aware of who you may be stuck with on the hosting end, may pay later...
Dot-Info's are cheap right now from many of the top names , last I noticed around $1.99ea...-that's hard to beat anywhere, a give away...
The prices change all the time, scan/search, and you will find a special out there that will meet your budget, and get you rolling....!
