How to track email effectiveness

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of a good way to track email marketing effectiveness...

Basically, I use Aweber now and I have 15 day follow-up sequence. So when someone lands on my squeeze page and opts-in they are sent an email every day for 15 days that attempts to get them to come back and purchase my program. However, each email in the sequence sends them back to the exact same sales page.

I'm looking for a way to put unique links in each of the emails so I can track exactly which emails were most effective in bringing people back to the site and which emails where most effective in converting prospects in to customers.

I know Aweber has some built in tracking features but I always seem to get inaccurate results (or no results) from using it.

I'm looking for something, ideally, where I can place a pixel on my conversion page and then place a unique link in each email so that I can track exactly which emails led to the conversion...

Any ideas or software that I should know about?

Thanks so much in advance!

Matt

I rely heavily on Aweber's tracking feature.
If you find that feature inaccurate I'd like to know more.

There's been several times now where Aweber has told me that a perfectly fine link was invalid for some reason. It says something along the lines of "xxxx.com is an invalid link. Tracking will not work on this link".

I still haven't figured out what causes this... Maybe I should just contact support...

Still looking for other alternatives though (external from Aweber)

Does anyone use HyperTracker? Is this something that might do what I'm looking for?

AWEBER has great tracking features, but to answer your question there are several link tracking programs out there. Personally I use link refer from BHTz.

Do you have a link to that? I did a quick search and found a bunch of random Japanese sites...?

If you use Google Analytics, you can then create unique
        URLs within each e-mail message.

You can find out more about that here:

How do I tag my links? - Analytics Help (no affil.)

For example, if you're promoting Product 1 on your domain
        via e-mail...

        E.g. example.com/product1/

Then using the Google URL Builder the trackable URL
        becomes...

        E.g. example.com/product1/?utm_source=day1&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=series1

So, this would let you know that your traffic is coming
from Day1 of the e-mail of autoresponder series 1.

How do you guys track the conversion rate of a specific email in a followup sequence? I know how to track opens, clicks, and revenue on a broadcast but I can seem to figure out how to get real decent numbers on followup sequence emails...

      Any tips?

you can use adtrackz gold software to do this easily. It is a cool software.

All you can do is setup a campaign named 'Email Marketing'.

Now you can setup sub campaigns named email1, email2 till email15, etc.

Now you can put the subcampaign links in your respective emails.

Setup a sales tracking code in your product download page.

That's it, this setup should take you hardly 15 mins time and the software will tell you how many unique visitors you got from each of your emails and which emails were responsible to convert into sales. Hope this helps...

Not sure how much it costs for 2,000 subscribers... If I had to guess it's somewhere around $29-$39 / month.

I think I'm paying about $130/month right now for 20k or so...

Looks like AdTrackz is dead. Went to purchase and the checkout button no longer works... Bummer. It looks like what I was looking for.
