Hidden Competition: Your Biggest Competitor

Most Internet Marketers focus on their direct competitor's. But your biggest competition is probably the hidden kind.

For example, the "interested but no action taken" prospect. Or the "need more time to think it over" prospect. And of course the popular "decided to spend the money for something else" prospect.

How do you approach, face or overcome these hidden competitive challenges? Any thoughts?

If a prospect doesn't take action, I revise and rewrite the copy. If a sales letter or squeeze page fails to convert, either the product doesn't match the customer or the copywriting needs more work.

Why? You don't care. You won't come back to this thread to read the thoughts anyway. You will just post another new topic in hopes of somebody clicking on your sig file.

People aren't stupid. If you were here for conversation and promotion, that would be one thing, but you are clearly here for just one of those and it ain't conversation.

As Alexa pointed out in another one of his posts...

I know the numbering seems odd, that "351 out of 349 posts" were initiating threads, but I suspect that's because of the way the "Off Topic" ones don't count toward the total. Just saying ...

That's not true. I read every thread I start. I don't always repost by saying I agree, that's right or that sucks. But my questions are legit, the answers help me and others if you read the questions.

It's not just about me, others read these threads too and learn from them when knowledge is shared. Now can we get back to learning and sharing instead of thumping?

I personally like the split test method, which a lot of guys do, testing and testing until the conversion ratio goes way up. I think a lot of people either are too busy doing other things to do this, or they dont know how

Like most I am here to learn which why I contribute relevant questions. If not I would just post complaints, two word answers and gripes like some others.

There is a lot of knowledge here, a person would be crazy not to ask questions. I could say I agree, that's good or other comment if you like, but trust me I don't ask the kind of questions you see me asking because I have nothing else better to do.

In answer to your question, I do read what people write - and it's appreciated, by me and apparently by many others, especially newbies, just for the record.
