Where to go for TOP web design?

Hi,

My business partner and I are planning to launch a new website launched around a certain household pet (you'll have to guess ) and are looking for a top class web designer to create something special. We have a decent budget for it (not $30...in fact, you can add a couple of zeros to that) but are looking for recommendations and genuinely good designers who can also deliver a fully-coded site. The site won't actually be huge, but should have a "Buy Now" facility and a back-end through which we can add blog posts and update pics etc.

I've tried a couple of freelance sites but they are a waste of time...and a search on this forum also doesn't give me anything to work with...

So, any suggestions/recommendations?

    I do say that i only do visual design, but i can also handle the coding / back end in this instance as I'm starting out here and want to build up a folio of work on this forum.

    Unless you REALLY need a custom design (with all the good and bad implications you'll get from that) check Theme Forrest + Wordpress with E-Commerce integration themes.
