Wow. You work and get paid, but you have to pay then to get paid haha. I have used Fiverr before and I find it horrible.

The delays they make in the payment is also ridiculous. You have to wait for 2 weeks to get the payment, and then you transfer it to your bank which takes another 4-5 days (depends on your location), which means if you earn $4 today, you will get it after almost 20 days, which is really ridiculous.

Now I hate Fiverr more, after reading your post.

They could be suspicious if I was buying a gig, but not in order to pay me!

If my paypal email address was wrong I wouldn’t be paid when they would send me money, so why would I use a false email address?

They act this way because you can also buy gigs with the same email, but this is totally wrong. They should separate the users and require proof only from buyers, not from service providers.

And the ‘no refundable’ amount is very interesting, really. They probably make a lot of money this way.

All websites that require a minimum deposit as a test Always return the money back. Paypal, Elance, etc never keep the amount they use as a test to see if our credit card is real. Why does Fiverr keep the amount we send them so that they may verify that our paypal email address is real?

As a matter of fact, I could simply forward them many paypal email messages sending me money and easily prove that this is my paypal email address. Proof is usually required only in order to test Credit Cards, not email addresses…

That is sort of a lot of hoops to jump through just for a fiverr account. Sounds like the same kind of documentation needed to verify a paypal account jeez. But, thats the price you pay for being in their little service directory I guess.

I started using Fiverr only in order to send traffic to my website, because Fiverr is a popular PR5 site, and the truth is that after my first positive gig I had some traffic coming from Fiverr.

I didn’t expect to make money at Fiverr because this site doesn’t really fit with me, anyhow, I tried to find a way to have a gig just for traffic. I didn’t expect to have so many problems only in order to be paid, after waiting 2 weeks to see this amount appear clean at my account. This is ridiculous.

Fiverr doesn’t ask us for our paypal email address from the beginning. Why? All websites that pay us for some reason ask for our paypal email address from the beginning.

Why Fiverr asks the service provider’s email address only when he/she finally makes some money through a gig?

Perhaps they want to collect many test payments from the service providers before finally paying them. This is their tactic.

On the other hand, why their system didn’t accept a valid email address? Why did they consider my email as if it was a Wrong email?

Perhaps this strange problem is very common and keeps happening to many users.

I finally received a payment from Fiverr through paypal: $3.92.

They have a very strange system. They don’t ask for your email address from the beginning, but let you work first, and have money to receive in order to finally give them your paypal email address. If you are not American like me, perhaps their system won’t accept your paypal email address and you’ll have problems. Unless you’ll complain like me.

If in the meanwhile (while you are waiting two weeks to finally see the amount of a completed gig available at your account) you’ll receive more orders, of course you will work and complete more gigs, without being sure that you will be paid.

In the end you may have to face many complications in order to finally receive your money, but you will do everything they demand from you – like giving them a non refundable deposit – because you have already worked and you want to be paid.

Seems there are more and more problems in fiverr. I can't understand why fiverr needs to verify the sellers' indentification before they send money to them. The seller sells a service, and the buyer has confirmed to pay the seller. This has nothing to do with fiverr!!

They are problematic even for buyers. I was buying gigs quite regularly last year but stop for quite some time until recently. I have no problem with any of the sellers.

Try to log-in into my account recently but not able to do so. Contact their support and request for assistance and was informed that my account is suspended. Ask for reason and they send me a link to their terms and conditions.

Request for more information but never received their reply. Send a reminder but still no reply. So give up on them.

That was awesome. I really think it depends on the gig you get. A lot of Internet marketing gigs are suspect. A lot of social bookmark and backlink work is people using tools- who knows how proficient they are. A lot of the "teach you how to" gigs are people dropping PLR ebook in your email or outright selling stolen digital products. Articles- yeah good luck with fiverr articles.

For these kinds of services, I think it is better to stick with resources from established service providers or places like WF Service Offered. You may pay a little more, but the quality and reliability is usually better.

Some fiverr gigs are great. That rap video is an excellent example. A lot of people offer ways of making unique videos. Video reviews are good too if you can find reviewers that actually have the product.

Also good graphics work can be found on fiverr. many top notch designers use fiverr as a loss-leader to try and upsell other graphic design work or establish themselves.

As for the payment issue, I don't know why it seems so hard to comply with fiverrs' ToS. Is it that difficult for everyone or are you doing something unusual like changing your paypal account?

A PayPal account can support multiple emails so there shouldn't be a problem using the original fiverr one. But PayPal doesn't allow multiple accounts so if you are using a new email because it is a different PayPal account, that is a violation of PayPal's ToS and what fiverr is trying to avoid.

I found imgigz.com through warrior forums and have used them both as a buyer and seller and had no trouble being paid, they have the same wait as fiverr I think but as soon as the money was available to withdraw and I posted a withdraw request it was handled immediately. I definitely recommend them.

What I do is before buying, I send them a message to see if they reply.

If they reply I can help out more about their offer.

Yes it is 5 dollar but it is still money.

Yeah, unfortunately that's the case. Fiverr takes like 2 weeks to "process" it and then paypal usually takes 3-5 days to transfer it to your bank account.

Fiverr is full of shady products, copyright infringements, and borderline illegal services. It doesn't seem that Fiverr really cares much about what is being sold on their site or doesn't have the staff to filter through it all.

I have used Fiverr quite lot as a purchaser, backlinks mainly. But I keep wondering how sustainable it is for the provider...$3.92 for a gig!!! That is incrediblly low return for effort. What I like about fiverr is the no-fuss, small-time piecework that can be bought - no bidding, or lengthy scrutiny of bidders. So with the convenience and low cost comes a risk.

Are there any other micro-job outsource options out there? Some of the Lance sites have minimum $50 jobs, when often I want smaller jobs.

I also dislike websites that let you signup and then after the fact require additional documentation.

I do understand the need to verify account information though as fraud is rife today. Where I live you need to provide documentation for everything.

Even to activate a prepaid simcard you need to provide proof of address and ID.

It is sad to see these problems surface with Fiverr, especially after they started out, somewhat reasonable for both buyers and sellers. Sounds like they have let both sides down. Maybe it's time for someone to start up "Sixerr", design out all the problems, provide options for payment processors to satisfy buyers and sellers...

I haven't had problems as a buyer or seller.

I do about 150-200 gigs per month and never had issues with getting payment.

I entered my paypal email once and simply hit withdraw whenever I want my money from fiverr.

The 14 day wait isn't a problem at all as I used to waiting 30-60 days with affiliate programs before I see earnings.

I like fiverr. But there certain types of gigs I stay away from. I find it to be an excellent lead generator. I've also had some great videos and graphics work done on it. Truthfully, never tried to withdraw any money I made on fiverr, I just keep it there and spend it on other gigs.

Well, for those who are buying only, Fiverr is a "must". And hey, that happened to me, too! I was kicked off Fiverr ... I collected around 180 bucks, kept it in my account and after 1 month I started to spend it via Fiverr (not offering gigs at that moment).

And as I didn't offer any gig, I was blocked from Fiverr ...

We use Fiverr on a regular basis, with just under 1,500 completed transactions as buyers. We definitely have a few complaints about using Fiverr, but i seriously doubt they're trying to make more money with the minimal deposits they're looking for as proof of PayPal account ownership.

More likely, they're probably trying to avoid having scam/fradulent sellers simply creating multiple Fiverr accounts from the same PayPal. As it was previously, a seller could sign up for an account, break their ToS and then simply sign up for another account and it would never be noticed...maybe that's it?

I don't think you really have a lot of reason to complain. They gave you a list of instructions to follow and you chose not to follow them.

That's not Fiverr's fault, that was an informed decision you chose to make.

Any serious business online has rules, policies and procedures that need to be followed, especially those processing payments. They're there for a purpose, which is to protect all parties involved from fraud.

If you want to use those services then you have to play by their rules. It's no different than participating in this forum. There are written rules and unwritten "Policies" that you must follow if you wish to be a member.

By the way, I've never used Fiverr and am not associated with them in any way. I'm not defending their policies either - just pointing out that it sounds like you could have easily resolved the situation by complying with their instructions.

Well said Big Mike - if you can't follow their simply ID verifications - you have no one to blame but yourself.

I know many freelance graphic artists and even by working the traditional way for companies - you send an invoice the have 30 days to pay - most small companies take longer than 30 days - you chase them and eventually you get paid..Waiting 2 weeks to get paid is a lot quicker.

I have never done selling on Fiverr but have bought numerous gigs from Press releases, SEO work and graphic design. And probably had 1-2 two dud gigs in all that time both of which I got refunded for.

Phew, Fiverr certainly has been dragged through the mud, but every business isn't perfect.

Take Clickbank for example.

A great service that l couldn't live without, but they would only issue the first 2 checks, to me, physically, (usually taking 2 or more weeks, if you live in AU, like me) then a good part of a month to process the check, taking away about $10 to clear it.

Although now it goes straight into my bank account every Wednesday!

And to answer your question, there are quite a lot, but the next best one to Fiverr is gigme5.com. Not as user friendly as Fiverr, and not as much traffic, but they do have some things you can buy that, Fiverr doesn't.

Yep you gotta read the terms. I waited for my gigs to clear, pulled the money out and had no issue. Yes there's a fee for Paypal withdrawals and its anoying. If its not worth it for $4 dont do it.

So the deposit that is non refundable is just a penny? I wouldn't sweat that, but you are right about the general principal.

Actually, when PayPal verifies your bank account that make deposits (like 16 cents, etc.) and I"m pretty sure they don't take it out of your account. You actually get a few pennies.

I was being banned on 16 march 2011. After asking the reason they replied with a copy paste message in which it is written that you have violated the TOS and the funds will be cleared after 45-90 days. Now its been 5 months that is 150 days, and just when i tried to ask them about the money. They don't even bother to reply.
Complete scamming site.

I admired the creator who came up this $5 thingy idea. But it seems that the sellers (offering some sort of service/product) are seriously "under-paid" for the work they're trying to provide for a mere 5 bucks.

Not to forget scammers are lurking around ... even for $5.

Fiverr support are very efficient. I had a gig that for some reason the computer hadn't marked as "complete". I raised a ticket on their help desk - and they sorted it within four minutes!

Perhaps it was the first ticket to cross their desk that morning, but I was seriously impressed.

Regarding payment - have had no problems - they sent me an email and I had to click the verification link, and that was that.

But my Paypal account is a verified account. Perhaps they make you jump through more hoops if you are using an unverified account.

Sorry to revive old topic, but I had a similar situation yesterday. I got curious and was toying around fiverr for about 6-7 days this month and made some cool money, nothing big actually ($200 total). After waiting about 20 days for those clearing periods, I've withdrawn $80 from fiverr and it just got stuck - nothing was coming to my paypal. I've immediately punched "fiverr payment problem" on Google and this topic was on the 3rd SERP.

Anyway, the money got stuck somewhere and I rushed to contact support crying out loud about my problems. In a matter of minutes I got reply, and basically there was about 30 minutes of correspondence with fiverr support and clicking "withdraw your earnings" about 5 times, failing miserably... Still, after about 1 hour the money came to my paypal account straight (actually $79, not $80, but that's OK considering those pesky fees and stuff).

The problem is probably somewhere in fiverr's system and how it processes transactions. I don't know, I just suspect it that way.

I also received automated confirmation message from fiverr saying that money might not show up instantly in my paypal and that I might wait even for several days, so I figured I got pretty OK with waiting just 1-1.5 hours.

That's my experience, hope it will help someone know what do to if he/she gets into same situation.

I don't have any problem with fiverr. It's not a big deal to wait 14 days. Maybe when you just started. I can't complain, their support is helpful and you can earn some easy money really quick if you have good gigs.

Why are people bumping so many old threads this week? Makes no sense. People here can't solve Fiverr payment problems.

It also seems that your gig gets good traffic on the first page when you first post it, but then later on it goes down and down as time goes on.

And that's surprising? Where would the newer gigs go if they didn't appear ABOVE your older gig?

If you have a problem entering info on a site you are using - complain to the site. Give money time to transfer as it's not usually instant...and be realistic in your expectations of how things work. Makes life less stressful.

I have bought good and bad services from Fiverr..

Signups - ALL FAKE
Facebook / twitter followers - Good with comments :-)
2 gig - Facebook fan page was best purchase

But in all the assessment above is spot on....

I have bought some Awesome video intros on Fiverr, usually from top rated sellers with high positive feedback numbers. Some of these guys have over 200 feedbacks so they must be reasonably happy about the payment structure from Fiverr, I would have thought.

I agree, otherwise ALL professional sellers would have problems with their payment methods. I don't doubt that in general Fiverr is bad ... but their policy finally, IF SOMEONE has problems, is ridiculous and really bad

All this negativity about Fiverr is new to me.

Made $500 during the say past 7 months, had never any issue whatsoever with a payment, upon initiating the payment process it takes 5 minutes to have the money on my PP account.

As far as sellers in general are concerned, I'm pretty sure anyone can filtrate BS just by little common sense.

Shame you had so many problems... I tried Fivver a while back and found the system not to my liking, whether a buyer or a seller... I tried both... there are alternative methods out there for selling your services or products, so why play with a company that doesn't pay off or offers poor support? Glad to see you finally got payment tho...

  My personal experience was:
  
  I earned around 180 $, offering gigs there, made that within 1 1/2 months or so.
  
  Then, suddenly, from one day to another, I could not log in anymore (account blocked).
  
  I asked Fiverr support, what's the problem. Just "short answer": I did not comply with their terms of service ... Aha ... Nevertheless I did not offer anything special (just Backlinking, Scrapebox, NohandsSEO etc.)
  
  To make it short: Even after 4 months now and numerous emails and tickets there was finally NO MORE REPLY FROM THEM, NOTHING. I only wanted to access my account to collect my money, if they don't want to have me as a customer. NOTHING ... NO ANSWER, NO SUPPORT, MONEY (maybe) GONE ...
  
  That's a kind of "game", I also find in other blogs, discussing about Fiverr ...

I've bought from Fiverr a couple of times without problems, but reading this thread has completely put me off as a seller. I thought that the problem would be actually making $3.92 a gig worth my while, but with potential payment problems (especially for non-US people), it doesn't seem worth the risk anyway.

Yep they pulled the same crap on me. The verification email didn't work because the email associated with my paypal ID was on a dead domain name, and they wouldn't let me change it without making me show them the three things you mentioned. That's about 20 dollars in payments stolen. Fiverr = crap.

Fiverr owes me more than $2,650 (plus another $500+ of gigs in process work). I have been emailing them for about a week and keep being told that their technicians are working on the problem.

I sure hope Fiverr isn't a scam... I need the money!

Wow, excellent amount of money you made. Nevertheless I don't think Fiverr is a scam. But maybe SOME of their support-people are finally "unreliable", as I know from a few other business-friends as well, having problems in getting paid, blocked accounts for unknown and "unexplained" reasons etc.

Oh, they take fore ever to pay me. Why so so slow I ask you. FIVerr claims it is to prevent fraud, but I am not so sure. It is so slow that I wonder if it affects people who need the money. Other services need to jump in. Folks, this is super unacceptable and then some more. I want a new service that pays right away.
