Single page adsense sites vs blog

I've seen people talk about making $3 or more dollars a month, or week, from single page adsense sites but it doesn't seem like it wouldn't be worth it to me. I might be misunderstanding the benefits; wouldn't a blog or multi page website get better authority than a single page?

My idea was to treat the individual pages of the blog/website as their own standalone pages focusing on general adsense promotion, and sprinkle affiliate review pages in.

What are your experiences and opinions with single page vs multi page sites?

I think you are much better off focusing on other better revenue models as opposed to Adsense. Even if you have a thousand page website or blog, your Adsense revenue is directly related to how many visits you get and how many people click on your ads..

I do not know a lot of people who make more than USD 20 per month on Adsense.

One of the biggest BS generalization I have ever heard. I know many people who are making more in $$,$$$ a month if not more.

My friend made a minimum of 100 dollars in adsense a month in minimum, according to what he told me. That was a year ago, who knows what might happen to his traffic now ! By the way, adsense can be a powerful bonus mixed with affiliates and blogging. I suggest you blog + affiliate + adsense + your own products = money making generator. There are many more other techniques to generate money, just listen to your seniors in this forum .

Im new to SEO and web design etc about a year or so. From what I understand it all depends on how you market the page or pages. you will obviously have more content on a multi page site or blog with more pages to optimize and have indexed....I have a single page affiliate website that I advertise through adwords that does generate profit. It all depends on what it is and how you optimize and advertise.

I think the advantage of mutiple single-page websites is that people can focus on different high-price niche and keywords. Anyway, the final goal of these websites is profit but not an authority website

Do it your way. Whatever way makes the most sense to you.

Google ranks pages, not the site as a whole, so a well optimized 1 page site can surpass a larger site that is not as well optimized. People putting up the one page sites are doing their keyword and market research in advance to check out the competition, and only put up the sites if they think they can make some money.

It's not a matter of which is better, but what you prefer. Some people can't be bothered building larger web sites, and are happy to put up a bunch of 1 page sites rather than a few larger sites. And, adsense is an easy to set up revenue stream. They go for volume. Their hope, of course is that some will make much more than the few dollars a month, but even a few dollars a month more than pays for the initial cost of the site.

One page adsense sites are also a good way to test the waters in a certain market. if the adsense site does well, you can turn it into a larger site, down the road.

This belongs in the Adsense forum. And you can make money from single page or multi-page sites with Adsense. Ultimately, it depends on the keywords you target, how good you are at SEO, and if you know where to place ads and what to say on the page to get higher conversions. That's where the rubber meets the road with Adsense. I've had little 3 or 4 page sites make more every month than 50-page sites. Totally depends on what I mentioned, along with how much a click costs the advertiser and how much traffic the keywords bring your site.

Well I don't plan to only utilize adsense. I plan to use adsense in a mix with info products, affiliate programs/products, and membership sites.

I think the advantage of mutiple single-page websites is that people can focus on different high-price niche and keywords.
I hadn't considered this. I do have a couple things that I was having a little bit of trouble finding enough content to justify a multi page site.

This belongs in the Adsense forum. And you can make money from single page or multi-page sites with Adsense.
Thanks a bunch for the help. I was more interested in general talk on single vs multi page sites adsense just happens to be my main focus. I want to devote my time to one money making aspect and once I master it move on instead of bouncing around.

Thanks all for you opinions; this has been very useful info for me to consider.

Adsense CAN be a powerful way to make money with a website, I make about $300 a month through Adsense but the real money maker comes from diversification such as affiliate products and Amazon Associates.

Create a mixture of authority websites (big, content heavy) along with niche websites in between your work on the authority models.

It depends on niche you choose but for long term success my vote is for blog because Google gives importance to fresh content. Also according my experience interlinking of sites pages plays crucial role as far as SEO is concern.
Instead of depending only on Adsense for the income you should think about promoting affiliate products and building your own list, that will give you long term profit. Also flipping Adsense sites is a good option. you can check out flippa.com there are so many around us who are doing this.
