Proof of Income/Screen Shots, is it getting old and who needs it?

Is this getting worn out, getting old, a strategy losing its merit?

If someone is asking or requiring "proof" or "screen shots" , or a marketer is providing such in copy or after request, maybe the things are happening here:

1) Someone asking or requesting this is a neophyte marketer or would-be marketer who is starting off on the wrong foot..,

a) someone who is going to possibly serial refund you

b) someone who is going to trash you and the method without ever trying it, knowing nothing about marketing or what works or YOU, for that matter

c) someone who is looking for push button marketing, and think "taking action" means the product sits on his hard drive and supposed to make him money

d) someone who thinks that if he do not make ONE BILLION in the next 5 minutes by sending out a simple email, its a scam

e) someone who is desperate for cash, like, last year, and the Marshal is putting their stuff out on the street 10 minutes after they bought your product

f) someone that will refund at the least minor problem or set back

g) someone that can only spend 10 minutes a week to work on it

h) someone , that if their Paypal daily account don't match your proof, they want a refund and label it a scam

i) someone who pays $3 for the product, but submits 100-a-day emails, telephone calls and skype for mentoring and coaching

j) someone who is not serious or has no plans on building a serious business for the long haul

k) someone who does not want to learn or ever plans to learn proven, solid marketing principles that stand the test of time and fads

l) someone who assumes that internet marketing means doing nothing but literally pushing a few buttons 5 minutes a day

m) someone who does not know that "proof of income" and "screen shots" can be faked all day long

n) someone who jumps from one shiny object to another with no direction what so ever, looking for "magic"

And if a product producer puts out proof:

Is that marketer indiscriminate of who or what quality his list attracts, like the above type of customer?

Is that marketer, by providing screen shots and proof, leaving him or her self more open by inviting the above type of customer?

Is that marketer , by providing screen shots walking a line with the FTC and possibly other legalities and complications?

Will attracting the above type of customer strengthen their business, make it more solvent, solidify its integrity?

Does that marketer surmise that attracting that type of customer, he/she has a high percentage probability of converting that type of customer into a buying customer that will add income for the long haul?

Does that type of marketer believe they have the skills to turn the above type of customer into a quality customer?

So just what are you inviting when requesting or demanding "proof"?

Just what are you inviting when you PROVIDE screen shots of income?

Is that marketing strategy or practice sustainable for the life of the business?

The 3 or 4 marketers I know who have real businesses and whose products value bat a thousand consistently, NEVER entertain such blatant claims.

They quickly tell the customer its not for them and please don't purchase.

I think selling the features is a much more effective way to go about things.

Well when people make wild claims, I for one want to see proof, and I believe that's how most peoples mind work that are buying products. I do believe too many people forget Internet marketing is a job, and just like a job in real life, you do have to do some work to get paid.

      What constitutes proof to you?

Screenshots have been faked so often nobody believes the real thing

Some people have resorted to showing real cash. Anyone can advance their Visa to do a sales vid. Doesn't mean they have any real money.

In my experience every time proof is introduced, doubt follows.

Exactly. Proof of income is overrated and is in most cases fake (at least those I see posted in the WSO section).

Sell benefits, not features. Tell a story about your product. Mention the features. Most of your prospective buyers are looking to buy those "benefits", not features. Deliver a great product. I know some will disagree.
