Their paid advertising revenues have increased hugely the last year or two, don't recall exactly but around 400%, this is a sign that it's working for someone. They are facing pressure from Google + and hackers, but their situation is nothing like myplace.

Many people are still using Facebook and I think it is still a good medium to use to get more exposure.

As like any tools, it will totally be dependent on how you use the tool to make it effective.

    Are you kidding me???

We're talking 34 billion (with a B) people on that network. The average Facebook junkie spends about 30 minutes on there daily. Too many marketers are looking for the quick fix. Don't focus so much on driving mass traffic to your offer. Focus instead on building relationships. You be surprised how quickly people will trust you. You can then gently recommend Amazon products. Why Amazon? Everyone knows about Amazon, where as they'll look suspiciously at a CPA ad.

Take your time and learn how to create relationships on FB, and you're sure to earn a serious income.

Guys, I apologize. In my passion in joining this thread, I made an obvious mistake in saying there are now 34 billion people on Facebook. Obviously that's not true. What I meant to say is, that since FB started, they have had over a billion signups.

    Regardless:

    Facebook is HUGE!

    600 million active users
50% of Facebook users log in every day
This means that anywhere from 250-300 million login every single day.

The average user spends roughly 33 minutes per login session, as opposed to Google's 13 minutes, or Youtube 20 minutes. Some people will be logged in on FB for up to 10 hours before logging out.

Many people check their FB first thing in the morning, even before checking their email!

Now I don't know about you, but I want a tiny piece of that action. In order to get it, you need to take the time to study. Read good WSO Facebook offers, do your research, and then you can be a successfuly FB marketer.

    Brent.

Old Fashion but still is the most popular social networking sites that most people still prefer to use today. As what fellow warrior winnerone has stated, there are more than 30 billion users in Facebook and I would say, still increasing. You can just imagine how much time a person spends in surfing Facebook.
Not necessarily out of date, because even up to the present, it has billions of followers and like what the news have stated, its owners or creators are billionaires.
In trying to earn some money using Facebook, there are methods or techniques in using Facebook as a means to earn. In addition, it is user friendly and it's not complex to use.

I think one of the main tricks to FB is you have to look at your FB friends and figure out what they are likely to want. If you are friends with a bunch of "virtual farmers", they might not have any interest in anything that isn't game related (of course they might). The good thing is that you can use FB to do market research directly with them.

Now, don't get it twisted, I'm not saying you have to market only to your FB friends, I'm just saying they are a good place to start. Especially if you've been friends with them in the offline world, they will give you open, honest feedback. A word of warning - if all of your posts seem like you're trying to get them to buy something, they might unfriend you.

I can tell you from my experience as someone who has gone through the full FB gaming addiction, "spammy" posts can be annoying if your main goal is to play games and check up on friends. Additionally, in the WF, we all think like marketers, but on FB, they don't necessarily. This can be both good and bad. Good, because they might not be as likely to "raise an eyebrow" at something we would here. Bad, because what is common , acceptable practice among marketers might cause an eyebrow or two to be raised.

That's just my thoughts on the subject.

As insanely popular as Facebook is, it's only a reflection on what's currently happening on the internet.

The old net is re-inventing itself. Other social network destinations are seeing phenomenal growth. Recently (about a week or so ago), Linkedin hit the 120 million mark. It's now the world’s largest online professional network, spanning more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.

Other social networks that are seeing exceptional growth are:

Bebo: Bebo is the second best social network in the UK

Friendster: Friendster one of the first social network sites, enjoys continual growth.

Hi5: Hi5 has around 60 million members from more than 200 countries other than the US.

NING: Ning is the leading online platform for the world's organizers

    Not to mention:

    Classmates
    Tagged
    myYearbook
    Meetup
    MyLife
    Flixster
    myHeritage
    Multiply
    Orkut
    Badoo
and on and on and on...

Let's face it, even though Facebook is leading the way, there is a HUGE opportunity for marketers to profit from social networks.

Here's a hint. Since some may think that Facebook is getting tougher, why not try some smaller fishes in the pond. A sizable number of these networks get incredible traffic. Sure, we would all love to hook a great big marlin, but netting (no pun intended) guppies by the hundreds may be the way to go.

    Go get 'em!

    Brent.

I love FB and currently do many strategies of marketing on there. I can get over 100 new fans in 5 days and about 25 leads. See my signature for a free training. That is not the point however I want to make...... My point is, FB fans are great, but you do not own them. Unless you are marketing hard within your FB fan base to get them to opt in to your list, then they are just fans. You need to be very clever and massage them if you will, spoon feed them, to get them into your list. Your list is key, it's your goldmine and you must treat it accordingly.

Facebook deff still is in the game. They adapt constantly to keep up with the market and their user base still trusts FB highly. So many ways to use FB, pages, groups, your own profile, ads, although the cost of the advertising is very steep.
