Clickbank or 1ShoppingCart

Hey guys

I have a product (ebook to start with) coming out real soon and I want to attract affiliates and have a simple way to collect money.

I've been looking at Clickbank and 1ShoppingCart...

I'd love to know your experience with these and what you would suggest?

Thanks

Chris

I have used both and they are both good, just depends on what all you need.

Clickbank pros: low upfront fee, no monthly fee, can attract affiliates easier than 1SC
cons: no coupon codes, email lists are separate

1SC pros: can use coupon codes, email lists built in, branded w/your logo, supports multiple products, multiple product types
cons: more complex setup, high monthly fees

With just one digital product - Clickbank is probably more what you would need right now. eJunkie is another similar alternative.

I like using clickbank, they are really easy to use just a $50 fee to list and they take care of all my affiliate payments for me. Plus you have the advantage of listing on one of the largest affiliate networks.

As you climb in the ranks you'll start to gain more affiliates just by being listed there, yo uwill have to make sales on your own and do active affiliate recruiting at first though.

The problem with Clickbank is that you cannot list multiple products on a single Checkout page, which is what you get from 1shoppingcart.com. Other than that, I think Clickbank would serve you just fine, since you have a single digital product.

Please make sure to read their new Vendor Promotion Guidelines. Clickbank is clamping down on fake testimonials, testimonials which are more or less paid endoresments, and the "artificial scarcity" phenomenon. Indeed as they said it, if a vendor claims that he will only sell 300 copies of a material, Clickbank will automatically shut down sales once that number is attained.

I think it brings some more sanity into the system, as more people will be sure that they are buying genuine products that deliver on the advertised promises. So go Clickbank!

Try out PayGear, they seem to be great from the looks, low fees and a lot of features.

I'm in no way affiliated with them.

Hey Chris, i agree with Sandra, it depends on what you need.
With Clickbank you won't be able to built a list exept if you add your own auto responder, while 1shopping has their own auto responder.
With Clickbank there is no split testing, here again you are gonna have to add your own, while with 1shopping you can split test 3 pages at once with unlimited split testing built in for free.
Hope that was helpful, just do some research and good luck with your ebook.

I've been annoyed with 1ShoppingCart lately - 3 times in the past few months I randomly checked my sites and saw that none of my payment links were working because 1SC was down for maintenance. Why don't they notify vendors before doing scheduled maintenance so we can change our links??? It's so upsetting!

I've also noticed that my conversions are higher with Clickbank - I'm assuming because of the more streamlined checkout process. I'm in the process of moving my sites all over to CB. I just like the quick access to my money, which is why I still sell some stuff through 1SC.

Have been in similar situations before and was torn between CB,1SC and E-junkie. I finally decided to have the following sequence:

    Hope this helps you out.

    1. E-junkie - Try to gain at least 1-3 sales using this one. Its very cheap at $5/month and they even have free month from coupons. Use this time to gather as much info about your target audience as possible.

Once youre confident with your product...

    2. Go with Clickbank - The thing I love about it is that as long as you make more sales, affiliates will NATURALLY flock in and promote your product. The first Gravity 10 is always the hardest. Once you go beyond that, you're all set.

    Just a tip:
If you can, select the more obscure categories in clickbank so its easier for you to reach top 50, 30, and eventually top 10.

Once you're in the top 20-10, you're all set. Trust me. You will just need to get a VA to man your affiliates relation.

Hope this helps you out buddy. Goodluck!

    -Yan
