Amazon Associates Program Questions

I've been using my home studio video on youtube to my advantage to get clicks for music equipment on amazon.com

After 169 clicks, someone just ordered something: It says:

All Other Items Ordered: 1

Yet I don't see any earnings?

Do the earnings not appear until the item is shipped?

Thanks,

Ryan

That's right. Read their documentation for specifics. It's pretty good.

    Hey Ryan

Yes you are correct the sale will show but no commission will show until the product has been shipped.

Sounds like you have a good technique there, I make a lot of sales monthly from Youtube videos and just recently made a post here to show you how to add a clickable link to your videos which can increase click thru's

    Here it is

    Gaz,

I have a quick question for you.

My video - home studio, is #1 on youtube for home studio and on page 1 of google for home studio - 27,100 exact searches. My video has over 167,000 views and as a result my youtube channel is a PR 4.

    My video:
Right now my setup is, i have an annotation appear on the video talking about the equipment in my video, and referring my traffic to the link in my description for the best deals on the equipment.

They then click on the link, that takes them to a post on one of my websites, with image links of each piece of equipment and a little info. I also identify that I am an affiliate and I will make a commission if they purchase a product.

I'm curious, do you think there's a better way to go about doing this for higher conversions, I'm considering applying your post for the adwords/youtube idea.

    Thanks again

    Ryan

I am getting started with amazon affiliate and would like to know if we can use the content from amazon.com. For example let's just say I am creating a site about laptops, can I use the images, videos, features list, etc from amazon.com to use on my site and link it back to amazon.com.

I found this site Online Shopping - Bedding, Furniture, Electronics, Jewelry, Clothing & more. Best prices on the Internet! and seems like they are using images from amazon.com. Are we allowed to use all this material when we signup with amazon as an affiliate???

I actually called the support room at amazon and the lady on the phone said that we can't and if we want to we need to create the complete site first and get the approval from amazon to use their material but how would we create a complete site if we have no graphics, technical details of the products???

I know there are some plugin that create sites with just one click but I just want to play safe and be sure that we can use their content.

    Help appreciated guys..

I don't know why you were told that. I know for sure you can use product images and feature lists. Im not sure if you can use videos though.

A couple of options for you...

      1) Look into separate entity (LLC, S corp., etc.) in an Amazon friendly state. Consult with your local tax advisor but many people have successfully proceeded to sell this way.

      2) Look into selling on platforms that are exempt from state restrictions such as Squidoo. You do have to give them a percentage of your revenue but if you are very gung ho about Amazon that will work work for you.
