Sales Pages Don't Work

Hi all,

I was wondering if you knew a way to send affiliates to an opt in page and track them all the way through to the sale.

I don't want to send traffic straight to my sales page because I know the conversion for cold traffic is .5%-1%. I have a back end evergreen launch sales funnel with my autoresponder and optimize press blog.

I don't have my product on clickbank or any other affiliate site. I would like to get some affiliates who will send traffic to my squeeze page because the conversions are much higher than just sending to a sales page.

Does 1 shopping cart do this? I know there's a way to use aweber hidden field "ref", but I'm not sure.

Should I get an affiliate manager to do this for me?

Any suggestions on how to track affiliates via opt in would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Garrett

    Hi Garrett,
In my experience affiliates do not like to send to squeeze pages.

You can always track your affiliates with the cookie that is used for them.

good affiliates love squeeze pages with effective followup campaigns. they convert better, and make everyone more money.

another way you can entice affiliates to use a squeeze page is if you offer backend commissions on other products.

the only real objection affiliates usually have with squeeze pages is if they offer no value for opting in or have a very poor followup system.

the only other issue, is if they feel they guy is lifting the subscribers from the squeeze page to promote other offers, and never really intending to push the offer the affiliate thinks he is promoting

you are really just talking about a type of link cloaking.

yes, 1shoppingcart.com can be made to that easily.

as for aweber, aweber is an AR it is not going to have affect on your affiliate tracking software.

now sure how much you understand about what is happening when you give out affiliate links. here is the basics. when you give an affiliate a link to yoursite.com?1234. all that is happening is the users are being tagged with a cookie.

once a cookie is set for a particular site, it stays on the users machine until cookies are cleared. (not very common)

so if you have the landing page for your affiliate script set to send users to your squeeze page, they will get the affiliate cookie set. then you just set the thank you page for your squeeze page to your sales page and you are all set.

the users will still have the cookie set, and the affilaite will get credit.

Thanks for your input. I have an evergreen launch going and when people sign up for my free offer, they are redirected to the 1st piece of prelaunch content, and they'll also be able to download the free ebook they opted in for.

After the fourth piece of prelaunch content (4 days later), the product is revealed as a limited time offer. This gets much higher conversions since prospects are warmed up, and trust has been established along with urgency.

Should I go with 1shoppingcart to track affiliate optins all the way to the sale, which is 7 days after they opt in?

Good affiliates know that a backend sales funnel will produce much higher conversions and won't mind sending traffic to a squeeze page.

My only problem is what to use to track affiliate optins.

    Any more suggestions is appreciated.

      garrett,

1shoppingcart will track that for you. you can set the landing page of the affiliate program to your squeeze page and everything will track fine.
