little Motivational story I just remembered...

posted as a reply in a thread but thought you might like it...

a group of young Indian "tweens" had to go into the mountains and spend a few days before they were considered "men" and then come back and report what they had learned to the elders.

The first one came back after one night and had learned that he needed food and something to keep him warm

The second one came back two days later and found that he needed something to hunt with so he could produce the things he needed to eat and stay warm.

the third one came back a week later. He had killed for his food and used the skins to stay warm. He had climbed the highest mountain anywhere close to his tribe. He only had a question for the elders...

"When I got to the top - all I could see was mountains in the distance for miles and miles - as far as the eye could see. What are those places?"

The elders replied, "Now you are a man because you understand that it's not what you need to eat or stay warm that is important, it's all the mountains you have yet to climb."

I liked it.
