Article Submission & Linkage?

So I'm new here like the other 90% who frequent this site and gotta question, so I'm embarking in atricle marketing and was curious before I send my articles into my article subs should I link out to my site of choice FROM my articles? (I know ezine and probably others dont allow that) if someones ran into that already and know the best article submission sites I'd greatly appreciate some insight..., oooooOR visa versa and just use the article subs to make myself look as an expert on a subject and linking to the article subs from web 2.0 platforms?
Thanks guys, Mark

Always post your content on your own site first.

Then, once indexed, post to the article directories. Your goal is for your article to be picked up by publishers for their sites, so make sure your content is interesting and informative. Your resource box should have a link back to your site.

link out to my site of choice FROM my articles? (I know ezine and probably others dont allow that)
Yes, this is allowed in the resource box. Most article directories don't allow links in the body of the article though.

No point in my "just repeating" everything Melanie's so accurately summarised just above ... but the most important place to publish your article is on your own site.

Dont build backlinks to sites you don't own. Backlinks from sites you don't own to your own site will help. To some extent. Especially from relevant sites.

You're obviously looking into article marketing. Will some good, recent threads on the subject help you to "find stuff"?

This very good but very long thread explains in detail why it's so important to publish articles on your own site first, before submitting them anywhere else (and a lot of the indicental chat in it touches on other "basic article marketing questions").

This one explains a lot of stuff about "spinning" and why most professional article marketers think it's a waste of time, and based on fallacies and mistaken beliefs about "duplicate content".

This one explains why it's seriously bad news to create backlinks to article directories.

This one explains a bit more about article directories and writing for syndication.

This one is about "unique content" and a bit about link-juice, I think.

This one is about writing for syndication.

And in this excellent little article an expert writer/marketer explains "duplicate content" to perfection.

When you say this excellent advice flies in the face of what you have been taught, you are very likely referring to Article Directory Marketing, whereas Melanie and Alexa (and I), are advocates of Article Marketing. A completely different animal.

Fortunately, Alexa has already provided you with a whole list of links to what I promise you is the best reading and guidance you will find anywhere. All I can add to that is to urge you to read and heed.

      Good luck

Flies in the face of what I found back in late'09 - early'10 so obviously dated, no disrespect, Im not taking what they say with a grain o' salt.
I'm by no means have enough experience to say what I was told on this site is flawed.
Its obviously very credible and why I'm here...
    Thank you guys/gals again...
