As a long-term buy? Short-term? Day trading / trend trading stock?

long-term is very hard obviously, as it depends on the users of that website...

      what about short term?

    No.
There is a certain strategy on investing stocks and I don't think that applies to Facebook...

No way in hell would I buy FB stocks for the long term. I think the price of their stock will be all too reliant on the success of a single third party company (zynga).

Not to mention the fact zynga is not being sued for patent infringement and could potentially be forced to close down their games such as FarmVill until they can work around the patent issue.

Not to mention that FB traffic is on a huge decline to the tune of millions each month abandoning the social network.

I would get in at the start for maybe a month with the excitement of it first becoming public and then get out right away with what ever money I have made.

Not a chance. We're in the middle of a tech bubble at the moment and I don't think it's going to be long before it pops!

It wouldn't be a feasible long term investment in my opinion. It's just a matter of time before the next mainstream social networking platform outdoes them.

Facebook does earn decent revenue through their PPC platform and many 3rd party apps.

Short term to play around with extra cash.

I wonder when Apple will enter the game... that would stir things up a bit, eh? Then we can start a social media hedge fund.
