Do You Ever Access the Forum From a Cell Phone?

I know this poll won't be scientific, but it will allow us the opportunity to consider how many people use cell phones to access the forum...

p.s. Be sure to vote in the poll above to ensure that we can count the numbers, without having to count the responses.

I tend to access WF 60-70% of the time via iPhone.

Yeah I do it quite a bit from my iPhone. A mobile friendly version would be nice if that is where is poll is headed. Thanks

Yep I leave my iPhone for logged onto it personally. It's great for tapping into some extra learning or helping another warrior with feedback without the hassle of booting up the desktop or laptop. It works a treat!

Personally, its never for me. It takes too long for the pages to load on my phone (I'm not on Smart Phones yet lol) and when I'm on here I like to be able to jump around from place to place.

i do occasionally from my iphone, but probably 60% of my WF time is from my ipad.

its to slow to use much on 3g, but with wifi, its fine.

the ipad handles the site well, but i do get a few extra mistakes in my posts, so i try not to make long posts from the ipad. otherwise is sound like a guy with a solid marketing background who cant spell for sh*t

I just signed up so I haven't tried accessing the site through my mobile phone yet.
However, I regularly use my cell phone to access the web when I'm mobile so now that
I'm a member, I would definitely access the site when I get the chance.

All the time (more than just "occasionally"). Especially recently, I landed myself up in hospital so it's been my only way to participate. Works great on my Nokia (Symbian), all functionality is there AFAICS.

No, like Joe128139 said the pages take too long to load and so it's not possible to visit more than one or two threads before my patience snaps.

You might find this browser statistic info useful:

      http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_mobile.asp

Still under 1% mobile users across the board. Only 0.20% use an iPhone to browse online.

There's probably a lot more early adopters on this site (including myself, an Android smart phone user). I access the forum and other sites quit a lot on my mobile, but I do I like the fact that it doesn't default to a 'mobile only' version here.

I hate it when some sites default to a mobile version, and don't provide an option to use the full version if you want to. Sometimes you need/want to view a site with it's full features, even on a phone.

Another tip for WSO sellers is that Vimeo doesn't work on my Android. I've almost bought a few WSO's, but when I couldn't watch the video because they used Vimeo in their listing, I didn't buy. I never got round to viewing them on my laptop, so lost sales there. YouTube plays fine.

Don't want to go too far off-topic here but...

I found the w3schools figure of 1% mobile browsers strange.

I noticed 10% of visits were 'mobile' when I checked the analytics on one of my sites a couple of weeks ago.

I added a handheld.css and their 'time on page' has gone up 26%.

Just thought I would share that...

    Back to topic... sorry Bill

I voted never. And the only reason for that is that I don't have a smart phone to access it with. If I did then I would definitely be using said smart phone to access this forum, among other things.

So IMHO, a mobile app for this forum would be a good idea.

While I prefer using my computer, I will visit quite a bit on my iPad, and as far as I'm concerned, the forum displays perfectly fine on it.

On the flip side, forums in general bug the hell out of me if I'm using my iPhone. Not worth it.

Warrior Forum needs to have a mobile version. It is too slow and annoying navigating around the forum on my phone. With all the people making so much money making mobile websites on the forum someone should do it...

I'm probably 50/50 between pc and iPhone.

I've voted for 'always' because I'm always logged onto WF through my iPhone. But, if 'often', or 'frequently' if had been an option, it would be more accurate for me

    Hi Bill,

Timely poll in this packed with full of gadgets world. Voted.

Anyway, I also have a smart phone, but I don't like the 'mouse-movie'. I like the normal keyboard and a big screen. Not to mention, that all my other devices like scanner, printer, dvd burner, etc are at hand in my home-office.

    Cheers,

At various points I have accessed WF via Iphone, however that was when I had a phone plan which allowed up to 500 megs of data a month.

Quite frankly, the experience was frustrating to say the least.

Yep, I have accessed the WF through my iPhone just yesterday, checking on what is new and stuff. If I find the urge to post or reply, I would rather hold that urge and wait till I can use my laptop as it would be easier to do so. . . Maybe I'm just not techie enough yet using my iPhone. LOL
