Hosting question & a few others

I know this is going to sound fake, but I have this friend....

Seriously, it's my husband's friend and I just have to deal with them because of him....

So he told me tonight that they are in a bit of a nightmare situation over some pictures she submitted to an adult site. Aparently the owner of the site has banned them from the site, but is keeping the pictures & selling them (signed by the site owner as if it was her) and keeping all the proceeds for herself. Our friends are PO'd to say the least and they are working to crash the server while they try to find a new site that they can post her pictures to.

I asked them why didn't they just start their own site so they didn't have to deal with anyone else and take the chance of running into this again in the future. In addition to hosting pics of herself she could expand and have pics of other girls too like the site that just screwed them over.

They said they didn't know anything about making a website, where to find adult hosting, accepting payments, etc. At which point my dear husband told them I could do it for them. I'm still fumbling with my own WordPress blog sites and you can tell by my join date and post count that I'm NEW to all this.

So here's my hosting question. I found out that HostGator will host adult sites as will 247-host. They both have cPanel and WordPress which I'm familiar with and comfortable using. Does anyone have any clue about 247-host and if they are a good hosting provider? They say all the "right" things on their sales page, but then what business is going to say "we have 90% downtime, our servers crash all the time, your site will lag, our customer service is taken care of by "Peggy" who you can watch do his thing on tv commercials....."

My other question is do you have any suggestions on how to set it up? I can manage to get a theme loaded, upload some pictures, and can even put PayPal buttons on it- but:

1. Will PayPal handle "adult content" payments?
2. If they won't who should they use?
3. How do you set up a private "membership access only" website?
4. How do you set up auto-recurring monthly payments and auto-blocking access to the site for lack of payment?
5. Can that be done with the tools I'm familiar with?
6. If this is something that CAN be done with WordPress (and I don't see why it wouldn't be since it's so versitile- but I admittedly know very LITTLE about WP and all it's capabilities and limitations).
7. If it CAN be done with WP can you suggest a theme and plug-ins to use?
8. I think they should have an opt-in email list (well, I KNOW they should have one, but in their mind it's just my opinion. I can think of a million ways to leverage an adult content email list :rolleyes: ) but I don't know how to set one up, can anyone point me in the right direction?

I know I'm way over my head but I'm a website guru compared to these 2 friends of ours. I sincerely appreciate EVERY word of help and advice anyone and everyone can give me.
