How Do You Tackle Information Overload in IM

Whenever I subscribe to any program or download any software they started sending mails after mails each and every day....After a certain time I get pissed off...and either send them to spam or keep deleting them.
Also Don't U think images & text are far more better than video tutorials...1st of all videos take long time to start and then in some videos either People do it very slowly or their audio is not correct....And if its vimeo then the buffering is damn too slow than Youtube.

Thanks
TC

I prefer text. Now if the sender keeps sendin usless stuff and is obious that he just wants to make Affiliate sales from me them I send to spam or unsubscribe. But if if the give me content and interesting stuff well then I don't mind and affiliate link onece in a while and actually I will look at it since he doesn't send them every day so I know when he send something is because is good.

I think the way to stop information overload is to actually chart a course of action and then stick to it. For example you mentioned subscribing to a programme, once I do this I would simply 'ignore' anything else until I finish this course or indeed implement this system fully.

Part of the problem with information overload is that it stops us from taking concrete action by bombarding us with 'new' and 'improved' ways of doing the same thing. In the end, although you do have to keep your information updated you have to realise that you need to start somewhere and have express intentions and goals on where you want to get. Without that 'business plan' you simply will get stuck in an endless cycle of purchasing the next shiny thing rather than getting out there and enjoying a piece of the proverbial pie for yourself.

I guess the only way is to find one strategy that you feel comfortable doing and stick to it. Observe if you are getting results. If not, move on to the next one. Don't try too many things at once.

Focus on one action at a time, even if you have to multitask in your business. Learn that skill then move on. Any software you download or program you subscribe to should relate to the task at hand; otherwise, you'll be downloading every tool in the galaxy and end up on a bucket full of lists. The lists you end up on are necessarily directly proportional to what you sign up for/download. If you don't want it, don't download it. Start with that rule.

UNsubscribe from ALL lists whose mailings you don't really need. Pare down those newsletters to a critical few, if any at all. "Paralysis by analysis" is all too common among those who try to establish an internet business. It's a terrible symptom of information overload. You are spreading your mind too thin. Consolidate your thinking.

If you don't see an unsubscribe option, dump it in spam and never subscribe again to that service or download their product.

It's not enough to want it... you have to want it enough.

Self discipline...you need to stay focus on one thing and always have your goal in mind..one way is to remove yourself from all the email list which you dont need...stick to one method and do it till you have success..

Empires don't get built in a day, you just have to keep going and trying.

Stop reading, and start building websites, writing content, building links, and creating products.

Text and image tutorials are better than video tutorials, because text ranks better in search engines. But you can always write a tutorial, then make a video, post it to youtube, then embed it in your tutorial so you have a text/image/video combo tutorial!

The problem really isn't information overload. That's a symptom. The root of the problem is what's going on in someone's head. It often indicates someone who is searching for the quick fix or instant money.

Those of us who've been around a while aren't keeping it a secret. We shout it from the mountaintops, but people with their heads on wrong will not listen...

    THERE ARE NO SHORTCUTS!

I was unsubscribed from all internet marketing newsletters and just keep less than 5 which are more useful if I need it.My mind got clearer and more focused since then.

Trust me, unsubscribing from ALL EMAIL LIST will make your mind much much clearer

I agree, set a course of action and stick to it. Subscribe and read only about things related to your course of action and only start expanding when you feel you have mastered that particular area.

As for spam, if the list only wants your affiliate commission it seems like they deserve it. However, for helpful lists I always stay subscribed and keep the emails with tags, so that latter when I decide to learn about a new IM subject I can find the information (Evernote is great for this).

Yes just automatically unsubscribing from your IM lists as soon as you get on them... then giving whatever system you're on your maximum effort as long as it takes for you to fully implement it is the only way.

First of all, pay attention only to that information which relates to your current business concept. Everything else is irrelevant.

I usually ignore videos (except for real how-to videos on a topic i need help with). If someone isn't giving me the info in easy to skim, written format, I can live without it.
